I’m not impressed. I feel bad trying to degrade a small business, but I also rely heavily on google maps reviews and want to let others know this is not a 4.7 Mexican food place. I saw 4.7 and felt I needed to try it, but would not go back. Burrito was sloppy and drippy. I didn’t finish it and paid $13 for a bad burrito in my opinion. Plus no salsa bar! Sometimes the best part of a taqueria is the salsa bar, they didn’t offer that at all.

A wonderful place with great food! Very casual, and lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The Poppers (while not on the menu) are one of my favorite things to get, as a side or 2 orders for a meal! Staff is very friendly and happy to help with anything. 10/10 restaurant!

We were so excited to try this place today before we headed home from a beautiful weekend in Sandpoint. To say we were disappoonted is an understatement. Our bad for not realizing from looking at the website that is was basically a fast food place. This is NOT the place for you if you are looking for a relaxing breakfast. Besides the atmosphere, which we have to give a partial pass on, both the burritos were cold. The hash browns in the Rebecca(?) were cold/barely cooked and the burrito had ketchup in it (weird) and instead of scrambled eggs which is standard for a breakfast burrito they slipped in a over easy egg which just added to the swirling vortex of conflicting flavors and textures. My friend tried to eat what she could but threw the majority away. I had the chili verde burrito, which was loaded (so far so good) but so much liquid that eating it was a sloppy mess (think a 10-15 napkin mess). I decided to try and eat it with a fork to cut the risk of verde juice dripping all over my front and lap and they gave me a plastic fork, no knife. Not great for cutting through a burrito. Since it was served in foil, no plate or even a plastic basket, the foil wrapper tore wherever I tried to cut to the point I was so frustrated at how messy everything was I just gave up and threw half of it away. I get this presentation if someone is picking up to take home and eat, but as eat in customers (which they knew we were eating in) it was a disaster of epic proportions. Even if eaten with the foil still wrapped around it it would not have stopped all the verde liquid from dripping all over creation. The flavor of the verde was okay but I cannot believe it is made in house. It did not have the savoriness of a scratch made verde. On another note, what happened to the rice and beans? FB and Google show entrees nicely plated up (on real plates!) with rice and beans. We really wanted to love this place but everything was lacking. Hopefully, we just hit them on an off day. If we decide to go back on our next trip we will be sure to ask for plates or a basket and silverware, and request the burritos are hot.

Joel's doesn't need a revue. All the locals know this is a great place to eat. Great owner and staff.

Pains me to write this because Joel's has been the go-to spot for a burrito for many years! We would ordered weekly, for us for employees and coworkers! Joel's was the BEST! We got it so much so we joked about them being on Church St. because we were religious about getting Joel's! The quality control has disappeared over the past year. The 3 most recent times we ordered something was messed up, or the food was sub-par, cold, sloped together with recklessness, and way below what we had come expect from Joel's. Sadly, today will be the last order I'll be placing for a long time, took 1 look and 2 bites, it was tossed it out. Couldn't bring myself to eat it. Hopefully they get something figured and and return the to excellent Joel's of years past! But until then I'll have to make my own burritos or find another place to fill the burrito needs.

Food was as good as I remember, but would have liked some salsa. Both of our burritos were excellent. Tasted fresh. Meat was well cooked. Tortilla was just the right chewy and didn't come apart. Service was pleasant. My only task complaint was that our burritos didn't come with a side of salsa to add a bit more spice. Maybe we could have gone back and asked for some? Note: this is really a place to pick up some food and then take with you or eat outside. There is some indoor seating, but a total lack of comfort or decor. Maybe it makes the food taste better.

Tacos are awesome! Great place for a quick and reasonable lunch in Sandpoint. Made the mistake of only getting one order of chips to share with my 14 year old... They are delicious and we wanted more! Tacos are surprisingly big, much more filling than your average taco. I thought my son might need more than 2 but we were both satisfied.
