Had the Cannabis Terpine Hazy IPA. One of the best Hazy IPAs I've ever had.
Very good night with great friends . Shout out to the pelots for the good night.
Let me tell you the truth about this place. Let's see. Where should I start? The food was so disgusting that we didn't even eat more than Couple of bites and left the place. It is boxed frozen food. Not fresh cooked indian food. The best thing was the kombucha that we bought. The reason it was good? It's because it was canned and not from this place. If there was a way to give it negative 5 stars I would. Then the server asked me, "have you ever had Indian food before that you don't like this food what we served?" I was dumbfounded... I AM INDIAN.... You can look at me and clearly tell that I am indian...
Don't waste your time don't waste your money you would be better going to some other place than going to this place. THIS IS AN INSULT AND DISGRACE to indian cuisine.... Will NEVER, EVER, GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN AND WARN EVERYONE ELSE who asks me if they should go to this place ...
This place is a gem in Sandpoint! Their beer is by far my favorite in town. The brewer is talented and creative. Their food and beer has delicious with unique flavors.
Tips:
Meals: Naan pizza w/paneer and utarawurst, Saag curry w/paneer and utarawurst
Appetizers: Pakoras, naan bites
I recently visited Hometown Brewery, Utara, and it was an exceptional experience! This local gem offers a fantastic selection of craft beers that are brewed on-site, showcasing unique flavors that you won't find anywhere else. From IPAs to stouts, their variety caters to every beer enthusiast’s palate.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying a date night. The knowledgeable staff is passionate about their brews, providing excellent recommendations and insights into the brewing process.
If you’re searching for the best brewery in Sandpoint, Utara Brewery is a must-visit destination for craft beer lovers. I can’t wait to return for another frosty beer! Highly recommended!
My mother has a severe dog allergy and this restaurant allows animals in their facility. Owner was sitting with the customer who owned the dog. Come here if you want giant dogs who lay in the middle of the walkway and bump into you while you get food. Noted most service animals have a vest and paperwork. This one did not. Naan is floppy and from frozen. Curry needs salt. Bad food. Bad management. Bad owner.
Response to owners comment:
According to Idaho Statutes Title 56 Chapter 7 Section 4. Service animals are required to be on a leash. Upon initial entrance this dog was not on a leash. According Idaho Statutes Title 56 Chapter 7 Section 5 you are allowed to ask two questions of the service animals owner. Sounds like neither question was asked. Not strict. I encourage you to check your cameras as no yelling occurred. Your staff must not be able to be spoken to without a smile. Although it is hard to find workers so I understand the settling. Your “trusted GM” wasn’t on site and/or never spoke to me. You’re trusting your upset staff who cannot handle situations correctly. It’s comical to think I would ever come back based on my experience. Food has always been subpar and dog hair flying through the air is unsanitary as your kitchen has an open window. The apology should be towards my family as we were forced to wait outside in the pouring rain with dirt flying in the air as a dog laid on the floor of your facility. If you check your cameras you will see people had to step around this giant dog to get through the isle. I would like to point out how kind your kitchen staff was as they delivered to go food outside in the pouring rain. However it sounds like a meeting with your front of house staff and “trusted GM” on how to recognize true service animals, good customer service, and how to decipher a complaint versus yelling is in order. A thorough owner would have reviewed footage and done some light research before responding publicly.
My favorite brewery in town! I love the outdoor & indoor spaces, the yummy Indian food & all the beer choices! Dog and kid friendly is a major bonus! Friendly staff and great service! I had my husbands surprise birthday party here & it went perfectly!
This place rocks. Been going there for years. Mango Habanero is the best. To the person complaining about service dogs, what you are leaving out is there was a really nasty storm coming in, and until the codes changed, they welcomed all dogs. Agree with the owner. Feel free to not come back. You aren't appreciated. Leave our brewery alone.
Gf pizza is amazing. Beers are best in town, hands down. Welcoming family atmosphere. The locals know what's up!
Christina and Nora I just read your review. It’s sad! I Witness the whole altercation and you both should be ashamed of yourself. The staff was dealing with the storm and different customers. They was trying to put things away and take umbrellas down from breaking. All you was worried about was yourself. The entitlement!!!!! The group with his service animal should have waited in the rain outside during that storm? Your family should have came before everyone and to yell at the stuff that was scrambling to take things down and situate the other customers. I’m glad you not welcome back. Also walking pass the owner and his dog calling him a liar. Real classy. That dog will be back again you will not be able without an apology. You’re like 65 grow up! Anyways I always appreciate the stuff here and the ciders 🤙🏼. Thanks for having me god bless!

The naan was definitely subpar. The staff was rude, the Korma was good.
Good food, unfortunately we were unable to eat there because they allow fake service animals in. The dog was clearly not a service animal and was bumping into people and laying across the floor. Appeared to be a friend of someone that worked there. Our food wasn't even made yet and we were offered no refunds, no cancellation, nothing. Will never go here again.
Update. Manager provided us with a refund after I called and requested.
I absolutely love this place. For my money, the best food in Sandpoint (it helps that it's the only Indian food in Sandpoint, but it's legitimately great).
Great beer, too. The Canavis Terpene hazy ipa is a favorite.
First time there, beer is great. Lots of choices. Very good curries too. Very relaxed atmosphere which was perfect.
Local street restaurant. Nice ambience.
Ordered pakora, tikka roll and naan pizza.
Pakora served with raita. Raita was the highlight of the dish. Enjoyed the flavor of tikka roll.
Naan pizza could have been more flavorful.
