Great burger and shake
I've tried this place a few times on our way home from Yellowstone and really wish it was better. This time was probably our last. Burned food (was told that's just how it's supposed to look). Teens behind the counter on their phones the whole time. No greeting, no goodbye, no service period. And asked for a tip before we even got our food.

Great stop for lunch on our way to the Grand Tetons. BLT was fantastic (3 of us had it), Fish sandwich, was awesome. Actual fish filets. Our 12 year old loved her burger.

SUPERB!
This is a hidden little gem in the Upper Valley. I suggest stopping in anytime you can. It's about 2 minutes off of highway 20, 5 minutes north of Rexburg. Stopping here for lunch is much quicker than trying to drive the 7 extra minutes into Rexburg from the 20. The old fashioned burgers and fries are amazing, and the salads equally as great. Try the steak fingers too. The owner is often there talking to the locals and recounting the surprisingly illustrious history of Sugar. Harold is his name.
& while I’m just saying this: you’d better pray to the god of skinny punks
that old school burger joints like this are here when you need them!

This is a small diner with a small menu. The burgers were overcooked and the fries were unique but not crunchy. The employees were nice, however, they were all teens. They had friends visitng that were seated at the front, near the cash regiser/ordering. They were loud at times, creating a less than ideal atmosphere.

They need to change the grease in the fryers more often. We got deep fried mushrooms and they tasted nasty like old grease. Had to throw away.

Kind of a hole in the wall place if you aren't from around here. You definitely get your money's worth of food here, especially compared to other more poly chains like 5 guys. You get plenty of fries or tots even though they could have been crispier. My family who got sandwiches and burgers were very satisfied with the size and taste. We also got the stuff mushrooms which was a lot for the price as well. If you want a nice diner experience and are in the area I recommend this place.
Parking: They ask to not park in front of the houses

I’ve been to this diner twice and it impressed me at the first! I’ve gotten the fish and chips both times and they’re amazing I highly recommend getting them with fries. The fries are also top notch they are not too salty or too potatoey, just the right amount! and dipping them on the fry sauce is even better. they’re also not too expensive either for what you get in general on their menu. Eating inside is also awesome, if you like some history and vintage stuff it’s worth staying inside while eating. overall Awesome diner and awesome workers!

It's nice to have small restaurants like this in the community. It's a nice change from the typical fast food restaurants. The service was a little slow, but they seemed to be short staffed like everyone else. I got the Hickory Bacon Cheeseburger, and my wife got a Double Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. They were both very delicious meals. The pieces have gone up, so expect prices higher than when you go in.
