Stopped in at this small town dinner for lunch, we we are from Dayton Corners Illinois, a friend of ours told us about this Diner. The wife had hot roast beef and mashed potatoes she said it was fantastic myself I had a BLT and the salad bar the salad bar was great everything tasted wonderful and the sandwich was great the only bummer about the dining experience was they were out of the apple pie but I did get a piece of banana cream and believe me it was everything I expected...
A group of 6 of us tried out The Purple Onion and it was very good. My wife and I were last to arrive and so the other 4 were having pie as an appetizer and were very please with the homemade pies. Our waitress was AWESOME! The Service was Awesome! The food was VERY GOOD! I ordered chicken livers as an appetizer and they were cooked perfectly. My wife had fried chicken and was happy but she really enjoyed the small salad bar which had a small variety of different salads. We...

The salad bar had fresh tasty vegetables and the walleye was perfect. The cook even gave us the lunch special a little early.
Sorry I can’t remember the waitress’s name, but she gave very good service. The small town restaurant was a little older, but everything was clean. Will definitely be back.
