Horrible as Usual I've lived here for 7 years, and every year I give this place a chance to redeem itself, and every year it is a huge disappointment. Sitting here now with severe stomach cramps from all the overused grease. Why ask how you want your food cooked? Everything comes well done and overcooked, tasting as dry as the Beach sand. Service is the usual nonexistence. Appetizers are served with no napkins or silverware , Fries were served soaked in grease, from being dropped twice in grease to reheat them and were inedible. We never saw the waitress until the food was delivered. We asked and were charged for extra dressing, only to have it finally served, once the meal was over, and leftovers boxed for pet consumption. My husband and I ate here on Labor Day approximately 3:30/4:00. It was a train wreck from the moment we sat down. Our waitress came & we ordered a water and a virgin bloody Mary. She said she’d have to check and see if they could make that for us. She never came back. After about 10 minutes another waitress came & asked if we had been helped. We said we had but she went to check on drinks & hadn’t come back. She told us she thought our waitress had to leave for an emergency. But we saw our waitress & she was waiting on other tables. We asked our new waitress for silverware and we ordered our drinks and nachos for an appetizer. We waited quite a while for our appetizer and it wasn’t very busy in there because of the early time. When it came they didn’t bring any silverware or any plates. His soup came out but it was the wrong soup so she took it back. His steak came out. He ordered it charred rare but it was raw! Again he still didn’t have any silverware. My chicken finally came out about 10 minutes later. I ordered smother chicken without mushrooms or peppers. It was piled with mushrooms and peppers. I told them I ordered it without mushrooms & peppers but that we still needed silverware so they took it back. When they brought it back and I said can we please get some silverware my husband has had his meal for 10 minutes but cannot eat because we don’t have any silverware. She said yes & finally give us some silverware. They finally brought his correct soup but that was supposed to come before the meal. The waitress came back and asked us how everything was and he said the steak is rare, I can’t eat it. She said well he doesn’t really have a way to do what you ordered. I said then you should have said that when he ordered it. He told her that he orders it like that at the Pit Stop. Her response was I don’t know if he ever cooked there. We explained that charred was just on a really hot grill. She said he couldn’t do that. She asked if we wanted a box he said yes it’s too expensive to throw away. I’ll take it home and cook it myself. She said OK gave us a box. I didn’t eat mine because it took so long to come out. Nobody apologized. Nobody said anything. We saw the owner walking around but she never came over by us or we would have said something. I’m not sure why it took us so long to get silverware and why we had to practically beg for it. We asked three different waitresses my husband steak was there for at least 10 minutes before he got a knife and fork to eat it with. Our experience was very frustrating & disappointing with all the problems we had. My food wasn’t cooked right. His food wasn’t cooked right he got the wrong soup the silverware issue. We had eaten there one other time and did not have a good experience that time either we will definitely not be going back to the cove. The view is very nice yes but the service was terrible, The food was terrible & the waitress didn’t apologize or do anything about it. Our first waitress disappeared & never did come back and tell us anything, we give it one star & I’m not sure it even deserve s that.

Terrible. Service was slow because they sat a 28 top that had not made a group booking in advance. The kitchen and staff were overwhelmed by it. That’s just poor management by the new managers who took over this year. They also get REALLY upset at patrons who move tables and will shame you on social media for it. Food was ho-hum. I hope the ACL board takes a long look at the attitude of the managers and the way they treat property owners before renewing any contracts. They lost our business.
5 of us had dinner. 3 had fried chicken fingers and all were a bit burned on the outside and the meat was dry. My son had the diced 8 ounce steak salad, medium rare and the plate should have never left the kitchen. Rare at best, some pieces still raw in spots. Bad thing is the cook saw it was undercooked and still plated it! My cod was ok, but the beer batter was greasy. Cook doesn't know how to control his deep fryer temps or times. Sorry to say, but The Cove has been a disappointment the last 10 years or so, and yet again with these folks running it. Our 3rd and last time going this year.

Great view overlooking the water on the back patio. They seemed understaffed, food tasted undercooked, and the plastic chairs felt under-fixed.

Fantastic location, mediocre food, and terrible service. Don’t come by if you’re in a rush or looking for attentive service. The wait staff will seem annoyed by your presence.
The food is ok, not like there are any options in the area.
What could be a great atmosphere is ruined by their incredibly rude owner. And be careful what you say, or she’ll make a mean post about you on their Facebook page.

The food is okay. The service was not so good. We sat on the outdoor deck where the view was great, but there were a lot of flies.

Once and last!
Not sure if someone here actually "cooking"or just serving anothers food from package.
They're absolutely don't care about preparing or checking what they selling/serving.
No welcome water offered.
No asking for coffee/drink refills,even they said it in menu.
Servers wearing weird baroque shirts.
But very nice view on the lake.

Trash the service is as bad as it can get a 15 minute wait is 45 In reality.Not to mention the staff is rude and sears in front of the customer without care.

Horrible owners (Michelle). She refused to take off the $6 drink that I did not like and only drank about 1/4 of it. At the host stand in front of others customers, Michelle and a supporting cast of 2 other workers loudly berated me and said “too bad, you ordered it, you pay for it, I don’t care if you didn’t like”, “we don’t do takebacks or give refunds for any food or drink that is ordered”. Never in my life have I ever experienced a management team that is so under qualified and who knows nothing about customer service. Stay away!
