I loved this place and a few times a year I'd come from Chicago to eat here. It was well worth the drive. I guess part of the building collapsed on the far corner of the building. They will be missed.

Ridiculously yummy and a complete hidden gem in. Arthur. The carrot cake is flavorful and moist, and the orzo salad alone is worth the trip!

A real hidden gem in the middle of Amish country. It serves Cuban/Floridian foods such as grouper sandwiches, gumbo, seafood quiche, crab cakes and Key Lime pie. They also serve burgers, German potato soup, and German flourless cakes for those who aren't as adventurous. Everything we ordered was exquisite. The burger was juicy, the gumbo was perfect, the grouper sandwich was excellent and the quiche was wow. All reasonably priced for the quality. Easily the best restaurant in the area.

The food here is wonderful. We ordered the special, chicken schnitzel with braised cabbage and new potatoes. We had the Key Lime Pie to go. Every item was delicious. Please note they are open limited hours and days and they do not take plastic.

My friend and I stopped in for lunch, she da soup and I a special sandwich. Specials change daily. I am not a key lime pie person but think I might be converted after theirs!

Thanks to google, i found this gem in Effingham. I literally couldn't love a menu more. We were headed to Florida and this was the best place to get our cuban on and get us excited

Excellent food! Great atmosphere. Only downside is it isn't open very much or for very long when it is open. It was pleasantly busy! Great eating experience!

YEA! What an amazing small restaurant! This is a jewel in the crown of Arcola. Enjoyed a scrumptious lunch there this week. Chef Gary is a master of original, homemade cuisine. The bowl of Mushroom-Artichoke soup accompanied by fresh, warm garlic bread was delicious to say the least. This was followed by the always yummy Grouper sandwich. The grouper was plentiful and prepared to grilled perfection. The accompaniments of a tasty sauce, fresh greens and sweet red onion between a homemade bun added to the perfection. I chose the Kale salad as a side. Excellent, in the fact, that the kale was baby kale with a sprinkling of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Had a small taste of my luncheon partner's desert. Oh my, Peach-Raspberry Melba. Homemade vanilla ice cream surrounded by poached peaches all topped with raspberry sauce and large, fresh red raspberries. Chef's homemade ice creams are scrumptious and vary depending on the menu he designs daily.
