I usually love this place and they have delicious food, but we ate there today and I was with my elderly parents that don’t eat that much. When we ordered our food my parents said they were sharing a meal and the very kind waitress asked if we would like an extra plate and I say yes that would be great. So we ate and received our bill and they charged us 1.50 for the extra plate. I ask our kind waitress if that charge was because they shared a meal and she said no it’s because you used the extra plate. I was stunned I’m like really?? I think that’s completely taking advantage of people and I was totally angry. I didn’t say anything else but,I’m not sure I’ll be back and if I do I’ll not ask for a plate if I’m going to share lol. How ridiculous

Quite a small restaurant with lots of flavor!
We waited 20 minutes for seating for 5 people. Not a long wait at all. We were seated, waitress was very kind, already knew what we were ordering, placed our ordered. 45 minutes still waiting for our food. We’re all human people make mistakes, our order was accidentally never placed.
Over all the small hog trough was absolutely stellar. We appreciated the discount. I would give them a second and maybe 3rd chance 🤪

I’m from Memphis, BBQ capital of the world, so my standards are really high.
BBQ was slightly above average. Light smoke flavor (needed more) and the ribs were a tick dry. Corn bread was very dry. For central Illinois, I recommend.

The food for a food truck is actually what I’d expect out of a nice restaurant, good portion sizes for the price. The pulled pork is great, not dry at all.. the Mac actually has flavor!! Most bbq places skimp on their Mac and this Mac from Paul’s did not disappoint! I also tried the Hog Trough and the potatoes were nice and soft and complimented the pork well.. honestly wouldn’t mind some Mac in with it. Overall I’d give a 10/10.

Food is great and they have good portion sizes! Normally I can clean my plate at a restaurant but here I have to get a to go box. Their pulled pork is so good! Definitely recommend stopping here! The staff is very friendly and attentive to customers needs even when they are very busy!

Went for my first visit today and was quite pleased. Food portions were quite large and tasted great too. If I only lived closer, I’d go on a regular basis.
