$45/person for Sadhya
3% Credit Card fee
18% gratuity even though they seated us separately
And sales tax.

My kids probably ate hardly anything and the food cost $61 per person. Are you kidding me?

Food was ok, but rice was cold most of the dishes were cold, but price super expensive. I am never coming back here.

$45 for this Onam sadya was a rip off!! And on top of it we were charged a large party charge (7 people) even though we were not seated together. On top of all this - a 13% card fee as well! Which ultimately brought it to $65 per person for a very very basic underwhelming sadya experience. Horrible experience!

I had a very disappointing experience here. Onam sadhya is completely overrated – the taste and quality did not match the price at all. On top of that, they added extra charges to the bill without explanation and even included a 13% card fee, which is unreasonable. Definitely not worth the hype or the money. I would not recommend this place.

On a trip from new England to Chicago, we had an opportunity to taste some absolutely delicious kerala food at Black pepper lounge. This cozy spot offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere and serves up truly authentic dishes. We indulged in Appam with veg stew, flavorful Kizhi porotta and fish pollichathu and grabbed chicken kothu porotta to go. Every bite was a celebration of traditional spices and homestyle cooking.
With plenty of parking and staff that’s both friendly and attentive, it’s a must try to anyone who enjoy the genuine taste of Kerala food!

Tried Black Pepper Lounge in Aurora for the first time and wow… Absolutely loved it! The beef dry fry was perfectly spiced and tender, the fish pollichathu had amazing flavor from the banana leaf, and the kizhi porotta was pure comfort. Cozy spot with friendly service — felt just like a taste of home in Kerala.

This restaurant is a gem for anyone craving authentic Kerala cuisine! The flavors are spot-on, with dishes like appam with stew, fish pollichathu, and beef dry fry - bursting with traditional Kerala spices . The ambiance is warm and inviting. The staff are friendly, attentive. Highly recommend for foodies and anyone seeking a genuine taste of God’s Own Country.

This is one of the best genuine Kerala restaurants I have ever been too in a long time. Authentic and true to its roots - the food taste amazing , the hospitality from the owners was warming. This place is very new hence not a lot of photos, but highly recommend to give this place a try and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Heard a lot of amazing things about the authentic Kerala food being served here. I’ve ordered a goat biryani for lunch. It was a disaster, the rice was sticky and unflavorful mixed with very salty goat meat, accompanied by a pappadam which was waiting to be served for many days 🤣 This dish has no character to be claimed as authentic. Very disappointing, I’ve spoken to one of the chef’s and got a cold response about the food. The ullivada I’ve ordered was very crispy and tasty, most likely due to being freshly made. Very disappointed with the main dish.

Awesome staff and food. Very traditional food. Feels like home. My number 1 restaurant at the moment. Staff is very friendly, treats you like family. I went there with my kids one day and they all had a great time there.

A very nice Kerala cuisine in the neighbourhood of Aurora, the menu is quite comprehensive. We visited Sunday lunch time and the restaurant was empty may be it is crowded in the evenings. The food taste and quality was very nice and special mention on Kappa fish curry and Kizhi parota were awesome. They also serve Puttu even for lunch and should also try the Meen polichadu. The prices are slightly on the higher side and they do charge extra for card payments which was quite strange and mentioned if you paid cash is not charged. Other wise a good place to try Kerala cuisine.

We ordered in from this place and were blown away by the amazing, authentic Kerala flavors. The appam and puttu were perfectly made and paired beautifully with the flavorful kadala curry. We also requested coconut milk on the side—it was fresh and absolutely delicious. A must-try for Kerala food lovers!
