Soul Spot is a whole experience.
From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love in the food. Everything tastes like it was cooked with intention, seasoning is on point, and the portions are generous. The soul food here is rich, comforting, and full of flavor—exactly how it’s supposed to be.
The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly and make you feel like family and the food comes out hot and fresh every time. Whether you’re craving classic comfort dishes or just need a meal that feels like home, Soul Spot delivers.
This is definitely one of those places you keep coming back to and put everyone else onto. That’s why I’m here every week!!! Highly recommend 👏🏾🍽️

The waitress was a sweet young lady. They didn’t have any sweet tea or lemonade when we went. The food took forever to come out. When it finally came it was lukewarm. I’m not the type of person to send food back so I just kept it but all of the people with me had lukewarm food too. It took so long to come out we didn’t want to go back and forth with the young lady. But I figured it’d be hot bc it took so long. Especially greens cool pretty fast. The flavor of the food was good. I got the oxtails with Mac and cheese and greens. The cornbread was dry and lacked flavor, none of us ate it. I hate leaving a review like this when the food itself was good. But hoping this helps them with guests in the future. If it’s something worked on I would definitely go again.

Our dining experience at The Soul Spot was definitely a good one. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was extremely nice, helpful and courteous. The food we ordered was hot, flavorful and delicious. The restaurant was clean. Nice, soulful music playing....will definitely be back again soon!

The staff were welcoming and friendly. I feel terrible because I really wanted to share our server's name (a Beautiful Queen that made our load a little liter. Thank you! ) but we have been dealing with some heavy issues this past week. That being said this was the first day in several days that wasn't fast food or vending machines. This was come on in take a load off, enjoy old school music, relax, recharge and fill your body with mama's love language (Good Food). It wasn't busy the day we had the pleasure of dining and honestly we needed that. We look forward to several return visits with more people. Now to our meal we went for the catfish, collard greens, cornbread candied yams, and macaroni and cheese. The fish was fried to perfection. The candied yams took me to mama's lap. I didn't even realize I didn't ask for tomatoes or sweet pickles with my collard greens. I had a sample of the macaroni and cheese; that was also on point.
I can't wait to go back and try the shrimp and grits. Do yourself a favor and check it out before you need a reservation to get in.
P.S. stared eating before I remembered to snap a picture. It was delicious! 😋

I ordered the Smothered pork chops and they were beyond my expectations usually thick chops are dry and tuff theirs were so flavorful juicy and tender. My only slightly negative comment is they should use less nutmeg in their peach cobbler otherwise my experience was well over 100 0/0. Seriously great food real home cooking. My Daughter never completes her meal but here all that was left were crumbs. She had the catfish greens and pinto beans with rice. We will definitely be going back.

We enjoyed the service. We were properly greeted, seated, and placed our order in a timely manner. Yes the atmosphere was a little dull but bathrooms were clean as well as our booth area. We needed corrections to our food and they were fixed with the cooks sincerest apologies. Will try them again.

Sweet potato pie too small but too high
This really is one of the best black owned restaurants in the area. The food made me feel like my grandmother rose from the dead and tapped the chef on the shoulder while she cooked. The anncestors anre smiling down on the chef. Atmosphere has that family feel, cozy warm and perfect for a sit down with family or friends. I recommend the Mac and cheese and oxtails. I just know once the bar is opened the place will be packed as that’s the only thing missing. The place is a vibe!!! Service amazing food amazing what more could you ask for?

If you’re looking for a soul food restaurant, this is not the one. After waiting for an hour for our order (the restaurant was practically empty), out of a party of 8, no one was satisfied with their meal. The name of this establishment is deceiving (we all thought it was a soul food restaurant). And, with the fact that they did not have all the dishes on the menu (including beverages), I think this establishment should consider not having a full menu (which itself was not organized well) and go with a limited menu based on what they know they do well. From the variety of our orders, I don’t know what that would be. The cuisine is not soul food and you can tell the chef/cook did not make an effort at all.
