Its a busy place and pretty hard to beat out the locals who eat there every Friday for a table to enjoy their Awesome Fish and Chicken Buffet. Be patient and enjoy the experience. If you leave hungry its your own fault!

We absolutely loved the Goose Pit! Fun, friendly, cozy atmosphere and the food was great! They had a menu full of great classic bar and grill food with amazing prices! The best part was our awesome server who was so friendly and took great care of us! Good food, cold beer and a great place all around! We will be back and bring friends!
Stopped in to the goose pit for lunch met up with some family an I have to say it was a very nice atmosphere more restaurant than bar style inside which I liked the food was very good everyone enjoyed what they had I'd definitely go again!!!!

If you are looking for a healthy salad, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for an icy cold beer and a huge pork tenderloin, tater-tots and other delicious, not so healthy choices, the Goose Pit is terrific! My husband and I stopped by after viewing the fall colors on the Spoon River Drive. As you enter, there is a large bar which on Monday at 2:30 pm still had a friendly assortment of folks doing the same thing we were doing: enjoying a beautiful fall day. Past the bar is a large dining room with fall decorations and string lights. It was spotlessly clean. My husband ordered a fish sandwich and tater-tots. I had a small tenderloin and fried cauliflower. The sandwiches were huge! And the tenderloin was still very thick and juicy. (Sometimes the tenderloin is more breading than meat, but not at the Goose Pit!). Everything was hot except of course the beer which was ice cold. Very nice end to a nice day.

Great local place to drink and have a bite. Features the usual bar food in a comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff. We had a fun time visiting with other folks there. Will definitely be back.
