Food is always lacking. Restaurant smells and looks dirty and dated. Tried 5 corned beef specials this year in 5 days. Chessies is last place. Cabbage was close to raw, corned beef tough and grizzly. This place has rely changed over a decade.

Great dinner with 96 yr old mom, this at the train car at Chessies. Food was great, onion soup, broccoli Crab balls, Sweet panko shrimp, chicken club, chicken n cheese & sweet potato crusted salmon, a great meal!!!

We have been going to Chessie's for years and it was always an enjoyable experience. We decided to go there for lunch today and were quite surprised. Typically the music in the restaurant was quiet and nice background type music. Today when we walked in the music was blasting and it was a heavy rock station which is very unfitting for this restaurant. The table we sat at was dirty and we had to ask the waiter, when he finally showed up at least five minutes after we sat down, to clean it. We were the only patrons in the place on a Saturday at lunch time. We noticed that a lot of the usual employees were not there and instead there were all Hispanics working there and yelling in Spanish at each other. Then halfway through our meal, we were sitting in the room with the bar, about five Hispanics who were obviously friends of the people who worked there came in and sat down at the bar. The bartender immediately turned up the music even louder to the point where it was almost ear piercing. We waited forever for the server to come when we were finished eating and should have asked for the check but instead ordered dessert. We waited almost 20 minutes for the piece of cake ever though we were the only patrons in the place and it wasn't a specialty dessert that was baked to order. Just a simple piece of cake. We ate it quickly, asked for our bill and left amid the blasting music. Needless to say, after many many years, we will never return to Chessie's under any circumstances. It was a very unpleasant experience which was very much unlike what we used to experience there. We are in no way prejudice. It's just that today at Chessie's the patrons who came in were yelling very loudly in Spanish and it was disturbing. Perhaps the place was sold. `

Last minute Valentine's Day dinner and was able to be seated in the bar. Dinner was good, but the dessert was great! I had ribs and probably wouldn't order again... Husband had the cheeseburger and liked it. Chocolate mousse was amazing though!

On valentines day, I order the new York strip steak medium, however it came out rare. My Fiancé ordered the chicken sandwich, unfortunately it was over cooked and and dry. I usually dont get this specific with my reviews but I like the drinks and ambiance. Hopefully the chefs see this and make adjustments. I will give them another chance.....

A friend and I went to Chessies last week and we both had the Coconut Shrimp !!!!That was the best meal I’ve had in a long time .The shrimp was delicious !!!!!!! The service was great !!!The waiters couldn’t have been nicer. I would recommend the place to anybody !!!
Awesome lunch at this train car inside the Ice House Mall. This was my second time on Saturday, January 31, 2026, after my first visit in August 2024. My girlfriend really loves train and we really loved coming to this place and seeing trains out the window too. It was her first time. Our waitress was very nice and we really enjoyed our lunch, we will definitely be back at some point. (Written 2-7-26)
