I had an extremely bad experience with this shop and would never recommend it.

I brought my De’Longhi Magnifica espresso machine in because of a grinder issue. Before coming, I researched the problem and found a YouTube video showing the exact same error, sound, and symptoms. In that case, the issue was caused by a small piece of metal stuck in the grinder, and after cleaning it, the machine worked perfectly. I explained this to the shop.

After a long wait, they told me the grinder was “broken” and needed to be replaced. I did not believe this, especially since I had already seen identical cases resolved by simple cleaning. When I tried to explain and mention the video, the technician was rude, argumentative, and did not even let me speak.

When I brought the machine home, it did not work at all. I later found out they had turned off a switch on the back of the machine and didn’t bother to turn it back on before giving it to me. I had to call them, then drive 30 minutes one way, just so a rude employee could flip the switch back on. This felt like a complete waste of my time and showed zero respect for the customer.

Their attitude was arrogant, dismissive, and unprofessional. I honestly believe they were trying to push an unnecessary and expensive repair. I do not trust this shop and strongly advise others to stay away.

When you wake up, are your first thoughts about that double espresso to start your day? Do you make that espresso with the care that delivers the best shot you can, with whatever machine you have, and the best beans you can find. If you're that person, get over to the Expresso Shoppe on York Road in Bensonville, meet Dave and try his shop roasted Carioca beans, the best I've ever had. Hang out with people who really know and repair machines and share that passion (okay, obsession) for espresso. It's just west of O'Hare, and worth the trip.

I am very disappointed with the service I received on my Jura machine. We brought it in for a full maintenance and cleaning service, but the experience has been unacceptable:
• We had to wait almost two weeks for the service to be completed.
• When I finally picked up the machine, it was not cleaned at all.
• The milk system was untouched—after your “maintenance,” the machine is already requesting cleaning and a milk system clean.

Terrible service. Please see the attached pictures as proof.

I was actually referred to Dave by another person in the industry. He said to me "Dave is great. Go to him." Boy was he ever! Brought my machine in on Tuesday and it was ready by Thursday. The price was fair and the machine works great. I was exhausted and asked if he could make me a cup of coffee and he even happily made me a double espresso to go. He is a sweet, humble, good man. The facility is quite impressive too. I'm a fan!...and I forgot to say...Cafe Carioca is some of the best tasting espresso around.

The Expresso Shoppe repaired our Jura Impressa E8. We'd tried calling Jura customer care. They simply told us to take it to the closest repair place. We live in Columbus, Ohio, and there is no repair place close by. Fortunately I commute to Chicago for work, so I brought it to ES. I've repaired the machine myself several times, but this was beyond my abilities. (Main problem was a failing water pump.) Total bill was very reasonable, much less than I expected. If my Jura ever needs work again I'll bring it back to the Expresso Shoppe.

The Caricoca roast coffee is one of the best espresso coffee I've ever had. It is strong and rich in flavor without the usual bitterness of strong espresso roasts.

I’ve given Esspresso shop five stars because his coffee is consistently excellent and always always taste the same ! At times I’ve even asked David to custom grind the beans for me. Again always consistent always delivers on time no matter what part of the country I travel to he’s on my speed dial. As far as fixing machines there are so many different makers of espresso machines out there each one has parts that are particular only to them selves and sourcing them and waiting for other vendors to get you the parts causes many delays . I have been a customer for 20+ years and I have waited to have my Sylvia repaired for sometime three weeks just because the parts had to come from Italy so the people who are complaining have no concept of supply chain and how the repair shops get their parts they don’t just manufacture their own parts. There’s so many machines out there that don’t last very long my two Sylvia made by Rancilio have lasted 20 years each and one is still going I now use a Philips LatteGo and I’ve gone through three of them in one year the quality of workmanship is so poor and they’re made I believe overseas somewhere and they don’t repair their machines they just replace them.In the end it’s all about trusting you repair shop when they tell you they’re waiting on parts I know David is telling the truth so give him a break try some new fantastic coffee and practice a little patience!!
