We’ve been here many times and the food is usually dynamite. The bread & butter was good as always. The cuts of steak for the ribeyes have really fallen off. For $55, one would expect much better meat. Too much fat, and way too much salt. They’ve been over salting all their dishes lately, and I love salt. The service is hit or miss, just depends who you get. We had Courtney. SHE WAS HORRIBLE. We were all there celebrating a birthday. She could not have been more blunt, snippy, and irritated with just the smallest of questions. Just flat out RUDE through the entire experience. My step dad usually tips like 40% (that’s just how he is if the service is great). He tipped 15% tonight. I’ve never seen him do that. We will not be returning for quite awhile. The service has fallen off, yet the prices keep going up. I’m afraid the owners and team behind the restaurant have bitten off more than they can chew in the new Marion location, and it shows. It’s headed in a bad direction, and it’s lost an original customer who used to recommend this place to everyone. I can never in good faith recommend someone to go here in its current state. I hope things turn around one day.
UPDATE: To the owner: It has NOTHING to do with the fact you’ve moved and everything to do with the service being provided by the employees under your business. The fact there’s a ton of complaints about the service here and all you respond is “Sorry we moved” is absurd. As an owner, maybe try a different approach. Addressing the complaints with your employees would be a good start. After all, it is YOUR business, and you’re running customers away with your business model.

*** just a small edit do to owners crud response!***
It has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR LOCATION!! IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR STAFF!! It is common knowledge never let a cup go dry, do not lean over others to serve plates, and always check to see if anyone needs something. I left a review because I wanted to. I do not see you being so rude and saying you should have talked with management not take it to the internet if the review favors you.Your response is very childish. I nor my family will be back. Let me say this I never ever go without tipping. That night I did not for the first time in my life!!

Was invited to celebrate a birthday dinner with a friend. Unfortunately you have to give at least 1 star. The water at the table was never asked to be refilled (Since we waited for a solid 10 minutes to order drinks), server never asked to replenish drinks, nor checked on the table. We had to stop an ask for anything needed/wanted. Took forever to get cocktails that were okay... nothing over the top. The lemon drop Martini was to sweet in my opinion. Over all the food was okay. Brussel sprouts still needed some cook time. The sauce was not as appetizing as I had hoped for. Over all they may have moved to a bigger place, but they need to overhaul their staff! They need to be attentive, not reach over customers, and by all means just smile.

Absolutely stellar experience! The food, service, and drinks at Seasoning Bistro were all top-notch. I had the Chicken Marsala with brown butter broccoli and a baked potato — every bite was incredible. The drink special, “You’re Killing Me Shmalls,” was just as amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing evening. Definitely one of the best dining spots in Marion!

I’ve been to this restaurant before and have had great experiences every time. However, this time not so much. Me and my family dined in today, and they decided to have the prime rib. This was their first time having prime rib here at seasoning and let’s just say it wasn’t so great. My mom got hers medium well and it turned out to be more medium rare. My dad’s also didn’t turn out good. He ordered his medium and it turned out to be rare the more he cut into it. My mom sent hers back, but my dad didn’t. It’s pretty disappointing having to send back prime rib and not get it how you wanted when it was $120 for just two prime ribs let alone a burger being like $18 on top of that. If prime rib is going to be that expensive it better be done right and not have to send it back. Let’s just say the prime rib certainly wasn’t worth $60 a pop it was more worth like half that if not less to be honest. I also think as a server you should have the customers cut into their steaks or prime rib to make sure that it’s cooked how they wanted, similar to Texas Roadhouse. Speaking of the service it was ok I had better here. The server seemed like she really didn’t care that the prime rib didn’t turn out well. Didn’t ever offer to give a little discount for the prime ribs turning out bad. Overall, we certainly had better experiences here at Seasoning.I’m all for 2nd chances so we will be back here at some point just probably won’t get the prime rib again.

Fantastic food, great service, bright & fun atmosphere. We really enjoyed everything we had:
- Wagyu Meatballs: that sauce!!
- Pork Shank w cherry compote w mashed potatoes & pork jus: unexpectedly delicious combination of flavors!
- Fried Chicken Thighs (OMG!!) over Gouda Grits w sweety peppers: gotta find these little sweet drop peppers in the store!
- Butterscotch Roister - go it To Go to eat with my coffee the next morning (too full to eat there) but I did have one little bite last night & you have to get it!
The complimentary bread & butter (2 types: 1 was garlicky & 1 cinnamon) - both amazing as well as the sourdough bread!
We were staying in Creal Springs for the weekend & wanted some where nice to celebrate our anniversary & the Seasoning Bistro knocked it out of the park. We live 1.5 hours away & have already talked about driving up just to eat here again!

Just passing through and heard about place. Lived up to it. Fresh food and homemade. Special was gyro and was really good. Same with street tacos. Not sure back to Marion ever but if so this is the place to come.

I am a devotee of the Bistro Cult. This is hands down, the absolute BEST restaurant in the Southern Illinois region. The atmosphere is vibrant and hip. The dining room spacious and clean. Every time we go we receive amazing service and even better food. Let me tell you, the filet mignon, the knife is only there for decor, cuz you can cut it with a spoon! Melts like butter in your mouth. And it's not a hit or miss situation like with other restaurants. It's EVERY single time. The food is expertly prepared and presented. The bar and food specials are specially curated and you can tell the care that goes into both. There is nothing like Seasoning Bistro in this area. We are so lucky to have such a culinary art gallery in our midst. Glory Be to the Bistro. Service has never looked so good! ;)

The food was great. I had the special which was a black pasta with shrimp, clams, Calamari, and little octopus. It was good. The service was great. The atmosphere was pretty good except it was a little loud.

I want to start off by saying this was not our servers fault. Unfortunately for her the rest of the establishment was a hot mess. We continually struck out on drinks and food. We finally ordered green tea shots for the table, then a worker named Eric came over and said “We are not ‘that’ type of establishment, so we don’t serve ‘that’ type of shot here.” Extremely rude and dismissive. As someone who has been a server and bartender in the past, and is now a cooperate flight attendant- that is not ever how you should treat and/or talk to a guest. Belittled us for ordering one of the most popular shots in the US. Will not be coming back and will tell future crews the same thing. On the other hand, we ended up at Little Nashville across the street and had a wonderful time!! They had green tea shots and even gave us a second one on the house after hearing about our horrible experience at Seasonings Bistro.

I’ve flown into Marion countless times as a corporate pilot and have dined at many establishments across the country. Unfortunately, my experience at Seasonings Bistro left me feeling like the scum between the bartender’s toes — his name was Eric, and his behavior was nothing short of humiliating.
From the start, the service was a disaster. Nearly everything my table ordered, they were “out of.” Strike after strike. But the breaking point came when my coworker, after politely asking for a third option since the previous two weren’t available, was met with Eric’s condescending remark: “We are not that type of establishment, so we don’t serve that type of shot.” The tone wasn’t professional — it was dismissive, as if we didn’t belong there.
Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, respected, and valued. Instead, we were made to feel small and unwelcome. As someone who travels frequently, I can honestly say this was one of the most unprofessional, arrogant displays of “service” I’ve ever seen.
If you’re looking for a place in Marion that treats its guests with dignity, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Seasoning Bistro is our go to for anniversary and birthday dinners. The food is phenomenal. It can be a little expensive, but it is truly worth it. Highly recommend.
