The best barbecue...we have had!

I really had high hopes but was let down by the kitchen. Cold hard raw fries and dry room-temp brisket leaves a lot to be desired here. Even the soda machine needs some attention.

This place is phenomenal.

The ambience, the food, the music and the service…. Marvelous.

Cecilia (the hostess) was a dear and took a photo for us, in addition to being kind and outgoing.

It’s C-E-C-I-L-I-A!!

And she’s not in Slytherin.

Inside joke. Just go eat here.

The BBQ is tasteless mush. Don’t call it BBQ if you don’t know how to make BBQ. Hire a real pit master. The rest of the menu items are average to below average and overpriced with small portions. The people who give this place good reviews most likely haven’t had good BBQ before.

From the artichoke dip with Publican bread to the half slab baby back platter with kale ceasar salad and braised greens, everything was really tasty with a full-bodied smoky taste! Nice and relaxing Sunday dinner on a rainy evening with college basketball. Staff was really attentive ❤️

I ordered baby back ribs yesterday with coleslaw and corn bread. The presentation was good but the food was very bad ribs cold and couldn't even cut through. no barbeque sauce
cornbread was also dry and cold. I really felt bad was looking forward to a good meal . Will not return

The service was excellent , The worst ribs I’ve had in Illinois. And the margaritas are mediocre .

Really cool decor and ambiance. The food was great. Service was extremely friendly. But the thing that really “wowed” us was the drinks! The cocktails were solid, well-crafted, balanced, and delicious. Fair prices! 10/10 we’ll definitely be back!

We sat outside on a night with live jazz in the courtyard. We got there early and sat at a picnic table. The patio menu didn't include the kids menu but we could order from it. Even without the music playing the atmosphere was loud. It was packed and I felt service to be a bit slow and kind of "chicago rude". Our server was hard to flag down. The music started just as we were leaving around 7. We were both disappointed and relieved to miss it due to loudness and bordem from our children. The briscuit platter with mac and cheese was great, the kids burger and chicken strips were good and a good size with waffle fries, pass on the potato salad.

Great experience at Babygold. There was a mixup with our reservation and they had to cancel it last minute due to an event. We were all disappointed and had traveled from over 30min away with kids. The owner came to us and offered to provide us a special table and comped our whole meal for our troubles. Ended up enjoying some fantastic BBQ and the kids were able to enjoy a concert from a kid-safe distance. Will be back!

When I first saw the pictures of this place I was like. It’s about time we get a good BBQ restaurant around here cuz that’s a niche that sorely lacking in this area. We walked in with my wife, 10 yo girl and 1 yo nephew they greeted us right away. They asked if we had a reservation? We said no. She said you should next time. She looked around and lucky for us a table was getting cleared just as we walked in. So the lady sat us down. So if you plan on visiting, CALL AHEAD AND MAKE A RESERVATION. It’s a quiet and clean and cozy. After about 10 min with a menu in hand we gave our order. Although staff was super nice and attentive the food took 25 min to come to table. My wife’s food( pulled pork, BBQ beans & Mac ) was cold. Mine(brisket and greens, and mac). My brisket was lukewarm and just ever so slightly dry. I like the beans and the greens were good but different. Usually I’m a glutton when it comes to greens but these were very very tangy. Almost sour. Do they use vinegar? Too much? IDK but I like it with my food. When my 4 slices of brisket were eaten, the greens were way too strong for me to eat by itself. I choked the last fork of greens down cuz I paid for them, after all. My wife didn’t finish her food. She packed it up and said I’ll eat it at home cuz it’s cold. We had cornbread as an appetizer but it was small for price. Like a 2”X2” square for over $10?! It’s the kind of cornbread I really don’t like. Crumbly and grainy/dry. I like it soft and chewy. Yeah I’m a jiffy mix kind of guy. Kid food doesn’t count cuz my girl is a picky eater. All in all, mixed feelings and definitely underwhelmed on my first visit. The ladies were super nice but I feel they fumbled the ball on delivering the food soon and hot. Who wants cold food? Let alone cold BBQ.
