This Bar and Pizzeria had been on my radar prior to leaving the UK, for a short break to Chicago to watch AC/DC. Kev and I weren't disappointed! Great hospitality, a wide selection of beers made on site and a 'cup and char' pizza to die for. Topped off with hot honey, it's one of the best pizzas I've tried. The 'Tommy o two legs' was my beer of choice with most having quirky names inspired by the friendly staff. A great location to visit and one that will be fondly remembered. Keep doing what you do and thanks for the stickers! Cheers Rod & Kev 🇬🇧

I went today and the sign said to seat myself and someone would attend. I waited for 10 minutes and I wasn't acknowledged, not even a hello. I got up and just left.

I have been in hospitality for twenty years, including being a manager at Brewery that has collaborated with Flapjack in the past. I really enjoy Flapjack's pizza and beer. They don't offer Ranch dressing with their pizza, which I usually like, but we have been customers for years.
Today we went for dinner, and I noticed they had Ranch on the shelf, but it had a $25 price tag. Surprised, I asked if they were offering it now, and he said only if you buy the bottle. What I don't understand is why go out of your way to be mean spirited to a patron? I never argued or was a jerk about not having Ranch in the past, this felt like it was going out its way to be unwelcoming.
The bartender I was talking to was not hostile, but he sounded shaky when explaining because there is no way to say it without being rude. At the places I've worked in, if we didn't have something a guest wanted, or the kitchen/chef didn't want to make a modification, you just said no. After he explained this to us, I felt so uncomfortable we left and went to the spot across the street. We had a great pizza, warm service, and yes, the sauce I like on my pizza.

Alright, I'm giving 5 stars for two reasons: because the pizza crust is perfect (exactly what you'll find in the north of Italy) and because we were on a time crunch because we needed to be in and out in 30 minutes to catch our train. They told us what to order and we were able to eat one pizza and take the others to go. Thanks for the great service and great pizzas!

This place was meh. I'm a pizza snob and specifically came here for the pizza. The pizza was subpar. The crust was soggy. The tomato sauce tasted fresh and the toppings were great quality as was the cheese, but the crust was just awful. Olives were great as was the cannoli. The cannoli was probably the best thing on the menu. But my lunch was sadly soured. The older gentleman with glasses at the bar was not very knowledgeable with the menu and actually made me feel dumb when I asked for a specific wine (from the menu) by name. He acted like I was speaking a foreign language. I also asked for appetizers from the menu and again, he looked so lost and made a face because he didn't know what I wanted. Olives? Friselle? Hello? I had to show him the pictures of the items I wanted from the menu on my phone so he understood. Annoying much? I also asked for ghost pepper chili flakes and he looked at me like I was stupid, even though the item was on their online menu via the website. This didn't sit right with me because he went off as rude and condescending. I don't expect above and beyond customer service as this is an obvious hole in the wall pizza spot. But I also don't expect to be made to feel uncomfortable when ordering food. Bummer.

I’ve been wanting to come here for a while, sad that we were received by a very unwelcoming and rude Mexican server, but the pizza, beer and pretzels were delish.

I first noticed this place while staring out the window on my daily commute into the city while riding the Metra. Flapjacks being one of my favorite breakfast items, the name caught my eye and I’ve wanted to try it ever since.Tonight my wife and I decided to take the train with our daughter and give it a try.

First off the ambience is perfect! A small quant vibe for a place that would perfectly fit into the city. It’s obvious that everyone there cares deeply for the beer, food and service and special shout out to Eric Jeppson; I’ve worked in the industry for well over a decade and I would have him on my staff in a heartbeat. All the beers were delicious and the New Haven style pizza was delectable.

This family friendly gem will definitely be in our dinner rotation from now on and I look forward to our next visit.

I love this place! Such a cute little gem with great beer and delicious pizza! The TokTik beer is my favorite! The pizza with the pepperoni cups…. YUM! ask for a side of hot honey to drizzle over your slice of pizza! The service is absolutely amazing! If you’re in this area, please come here for a beer and pizza! You won’t be disappointed!

FlapJacks is a definite go to for wood fired pizza. Great atmosphere with canvas art and murals on the wall. Staff has an eclectic rock flare blaring in the background. Today's was a synchronousplay of team work from Paul and Tom as well as supporting staff. Tom made sure our order and drinks were place. He came around multiple times to ensure our request were met. Paul manned the wood fires oven. We requested our Grandma’s pie and Tavern style well done. A true master at his craft, he did not disappoint. Give Flapjacks a try, well worth the trip if needed. Not to mentioned the house brewed menu. We washed done our pizzas with nitro stout and hazy Ipa’s. Love love love - FLAPJACKS!!!

Probably the best pizza in the tri-county area.

I used to really like this place because it was extremely friendly and welcoming. Tonight it was not. The music was the worst - Death Metal in your face at high volume made me want to leave immediately. I gave it a go though, the food was good but the atmosphere was not tolerable. The bartender was less than friendly, was agitated when asked about the music and was not helpful when trying to decide on a beer. Instead of helping someone find something they might like, he pointed at the wall menu and said that’s what we’ve got. Gee thanks! Unfortunately, we won’t be back and it’s a shame.
