I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 7:35 p.m. at Mike’s Place, located at 6319 Roosevelt Rd, Berwyn, IL 60402. I attended this establishment for a class reunion gathering after purchasing my ticket in advance.

Upon arrival, security informed me that a pat-down search was mandatory. I politely declined because I am not comfortable being touched and requested a wand search instead. The female security guard informed me that no metal detector was available and insisted on performing a physical pat-down.

I made it clear that I was uncomfortable and specifically requested that my breasts not be touched in an invasive manner. Despite this, the security guard began the pat-down using her fingers in a vertical position and deliberately inserted her index finger between my breasts, pulling toward herself. This action was invasive and humiliating. When I objected, she dismissed my concerns, stating that I was “being extra” and that she “didn’t have time for this,” then made me stand aside in front of other patrons, which caused additional embarrassment.

After allowing six other female patrons to enter without incident, she returned and performed another pat-down in the same invasive manner, including cupping and rubbing my breasts and sliding her hands between my crotch and along my backside. At this point, I felt violated, humiliated, and emotionally triggered, recalling traumatic childhood experiences.

I want to emphasize that I have undergone security screenings before, such as TSA checks, and have never experienced this level of inappropriate physical contact. The manner in which this search was conducted went far beyond what is necessary for security purposes.

I question whether the security personnel at this establishment are properly licensed and trained under the Illinois Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004 (225 ILCS 447). This Act requires security guards to be registered, fingerprinted, and trained, including instruction on appropriate search procedures and respecting individual rights. Based on my experience, this individual’s actions strongly suggest inadequate training and possible non-compliance with Illinois law.

This experience has left me emotionally distressed and physically violated. I am requesting that your office:
1. Investigate whether Mike’s Place employs properly licensed and trained security personnel as required by Illinois law.
2. Determine if this conduct constitutes a violation of state regulations regarding security guard conduct and personal rights.
3. Advise on potential legal remedies, as I am considering pursuing legal action against this establishment for this violation.

I believe no patron should be subjected to such invasive and degrading treatment. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and advise on the next steps. Supporting details, including witness statements, can be provided upon request.

20 dollar cover charge was crazy for it to not even be packed at 12. The dj was playing alot of drill music and younger generation music and that wasn' t the crowd in there that night other than that it was a vibe.

The first time I went to Mike's was great. I had a good time when Ahna Mac was there. She had the party lit.🎉🎉🎉 I made over $100 from her and other dudes. The security guards were rude and weren't clear with admission rules. I went to Mike's this past Friday, and I made a blank trip. I had my admission ticket that I paid for online, but was told it was only valid until 10pm. The security guards were talking about it's $20 to get in. They had attitudes and weren't trying to negotiate with me or anyone. The environment is 🆒 but security sucks. I advise anyone to get there early. That's my best advice.

It was my first time in Chicago and I found out about this bar and I was not disappointed. The music was great and the food was good. They pour some good ass drinks too! I went on a Saturday night and it was live! Definitely my type of party atmosphere for the grown and sexy. I will go to Mike's the next time I'm in the Chi 😊

The security guard was completely rude it was my first time there I asked him a question he blew me off and told me to get out of line. Never again

A pint for bottle service is crazy

This is no longer Mike's it's called secret sundaszze. Not what it's like in videos. Tiny tables to eat on there was no big tables at all. food literally took like a Whole HR and half just for loaded jerk fries. Came out fries were salty very little chicken. Restroom were not cleaned at all didn't even have toilet paper in any of the stalls. Menu's were Soo sticky and dirty.

Turned out to be a gay club. Nice furniture and layout tho. Also, one light-skinned cat was working all night. He kept that joint spotless. Promote him.

The location create a pleasant experience. The food seem to be wonderful.

Great place to host an event. Good food, nice music selection, courteous staff and plenty of room to relax, chill, and mingle. It was my first time there and I will be going back. And I got to meet Mike in person, working his spot and making sure everything went smoothly.

The owner is a woman beater. His security watched him throw me on the floor inside the bar and beat me. Pulled me by my hair and hit me in my face. They watched him choke me into a brink wall and laugh faked as if they were trying to get him off me
