Decided to try Sammy’s tamales, a newer addition to our neighborhood, after our old tamale spot falling way off. This place did not disappoint!!! My mom and I tried the chicken in salsa verde and salsa rojo, as well as rajas con queso (spicy), and they were so good. Perfect meat, salsa, masa ratio, not undercooked or dry, perfect flavor! Will definitely be going back to try more on the menu. Downgraded service only because we went in a weekday and they had a young teenage boy servicing m, he was polite but not much service experience. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Very bad service, you order what they have and then they tell you that they don't have the food. I don't recommend this restaurant. Bad service at the meals. I found hair and a wire iron like a fiber from the dishes. Very bad service. The truth is.

Nada .muy mal servicio y solo una persona atendiendo en las mesas
I got all fat meat in my steak burrito and there was a lot of salt added. I believe this was done on purpose, I never had a problem with this place. I don't think they like Black people. I won't be going back to this place ever again.

Me and my family went here and let's just say it was alone like a desert. My 2 sons ordered aguas frescas and came with NO ICE and had no flavor at all, they did not even have ice at all. The champurrado I ordered was watery like coffee. My youngest son asked for plain tacos with beans and rice and they brought him the tacos with everything on it so we asked to change it and we asked for it to be plain in the first place TWICE and the rice and beans were cold and the tacos were salty, my oldest son ordered quessdillas and it barely had cheese, and my food was okay, it could have been better. By the time we finished our food, my husbands food did not even arrive so we had to take home his food. He ordered popusas and they were completely burned outside and were not cooked in the inside. The only good thing was the tamales but they were expensive, $5 for 1 tamale. I would not recommend this place EVER!

I tried this new place. The food came out slowly but I forgive it because it’s new. I got quesabirria tacos and a pupusa. The food was very good and I liked that I could see them pressing fresh tortillas for me. I will be back to try more menu items.

Very bad experience!!!! I ordered half a dozen that cost 12 and for eating there they charged me 18 ???separate charge for paying with card and without notice
The green tamales are spicy, packed with meat and aren't expensive, the atmosphere was also very authentic. Only problem is that if you don't speak Spanish you might have some trouble ordering.

The food is absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. I had enchiladas verde and each chicken tamale plus a pineapple tamale. The tamales are some of the best I've ever had.

My first impression when I walked in was, should I walk out? There’s absolutely nobody inside of the restaurant. But me, wanting to be a supporter to new businesses. I figured I’d give them a try. First of all the Horchata was decent the chicken tacos were not bad which is what my daughter had. My tampiquena on the other hand, which is what I typically order in every restaurant was horrible. Honestly, it was not even a tampiquena as you see on the picture. when they brought me the tortillas on the side, they literally brought me a container with three tortillas. I was mine blowned. my wife’s enchiladas had super runny, sour cream look like it was mixed with water horrible. all the plates had cold beans. The biggest red flag when we started ordering is when I ordered my typical can of Coke with ice on the side she literally told me they had no ice. I didn’t understand since there was nobody in the restaurant like why didn’t somebody go and buy a bag of ice? I blame this on the Owner. I feel sorry for the server. They had to explain that to me in a very. embarrass manner. Also, they gave us the Horchata‘s in some type of soup container that you couldn’t even stick the straw in. This is another thing we addressed to the server. Once again, she was embarrassed. She didn’t even know what to say when I told her how are we supposed to drink it. All the plates came out at different times which didn’t make sense since there was nobody inside of the place. I was literally finished with my food when my daughter got her three tacos.

Was really excited to try this place after it was so strongly recommended. Went in for lunch on a quiet weekday, but it still took an hour for our food to get to the table (4 tamales and an order of chilaquiles). Further, we were trying out tamales for a possible Christmas order and one had spoiled. The chicken tamal had gone rancid and when we told them about it, they just took it away. No acknowledgement, no apology. More like a "woops, let me disappear this." The service was poor. Overall we were very disappointed and don't plan to return. Only reason I didn't give a one-star review is because the atmosphere was decent, and the location is convenient for people living in Riverside, N. Riverside and Berwyn.
