Multiple missing items, incorrect items, and sauces. I hadn’t had TB in a while and was looking forward to it, but now I remember why I stay away. Super disappointing experience.

On 12/20/2024, at the Taco Bell 6956 Odgen Ave Berwyn, Il 60402 location, I purchased a gift card for my father. I grabbed a gift card, told the cashier I wanted to put 20 dollars on the gift card, the cashier was struggling to activate, I told him I can use a new card to activate and he frustratingly said no, he went for another female staff member, the staff member then told me to pay, then I paid for the 20 dollar gift card, after the cashier and the other female staff member kept swiping and swiping. He kept saying how do they know it’s activated. After he kept swiping, they said the card is activated and ready to use.
I gave this gift card to someone for their lunch breaks. The person I gifted it to (my father) tried using this card at another Taco bell location near his job. He was told it does not work. The employee kept swiping and swiping. At the end, he ended up having to pay for his food. It is very embarrassing that I gift a card to my father and it does not work.
On January 3, I went to this exact Taco Bell location where I bought the card. The same female worker that tried helping the cashier was there today. We told her the gift card we activated did not work. She took the card and receipt in the back with her. I couldn’t even fully explain that it would be helpful to have a refund back because she wouldn’t talk to me. She went for a male staff member who I believe was a manager to go in the back with her. He came up to the register and said I’ll put it on another card. He didn’t even let me talk. I was trying to tell him I didn’t feel comfortable with receiving another gift card. He came back, and I told him I don’t want another gift card. I want a refund. He started telling me just because you grab a card from the counter doesn’t mean there’s money on there. I then proceeded to tell him every step I took to purchase the card on December 20th from grabbing the card from the counter, handing it to the cashier, and paying for the card.He asked where did you buy it? I told him here. He said to sshow him the proof. I then told him the girl took the receipt with her in the back. It’s all on there. He went quiet and went in the back with the girl. He came back and said he can’t give me a refund and that the girl transferred the money on the new card. He started telling me that giftcard was already used at the counter. Then I told him no one used it, my father was told it doesn’t work. He kept saying it was used which did not make sense. He said I can take the new gift card and he had to take the old one or I keep the old one and call corporate. I feel extremely disappointed in this whole process. I feel very embarrassed to re gift a card that I don’t know will work.I understand mistakes are made, but I don’t trust that card will work based on our experience. The manager kept accusing us of using the card which made me not want to go to Taco bell anymore. He continually said it was used even though the person I gifted it said the gift card got rejected. Based on everything that happened, this experience made me not want to go to Taco Bell. I feel like I was stolen 20 dollars from this location. I bought gift cards from other restaurants, and the experience was extremely smooth and helpful.

Apparently under new management. Manager chose to flex her muscles by not allowing extra ice from the ice machine, even though I needed additional chewable ice, since my ice machine was down. It was not like I wasn’t willing to pay for it, I already had an order of five meals with drinks. She said she was not able to provide an additional bag and the ice was only for customers in the dining area, there were none, it was just a lame excuse. I was a regular customer, not any more. Would not recommend this establishment for the managers short sightedness.

I had called right now and tried explaining to the lady that I placed an order through Uber eats and all she said was “you’re going to have to call Uber” then hung up on me she did not even let me finish talking I was trying to tell her I did not want tomatoes on the tacos because they were for my sister and the Uber eat app didn’t give me the option to put no tomatoes I’m upset because my sister is ALLERGIC to tomatoes I was calling and calling and they did not answer the phone
terrible customer service that lady was very very rude !!! If I could give zero stars, I would !

If I could give this 0 stars I would. It dosent matter what staff is switched out I've been here day and night because i work nearby the staff is always super rude and take FOREVER to give you your food and when they finally do, if you made any changes to it it's wrong. They will just make the base item as it is on the menu with no care. I've brought up problems to this staff on multiple occasions and they always refuse to re-make the food or give a refund or offer ANY sort of help for what they did wrong. Almost 100% of the time the staff is just ignoring customers and messing around in the kitchen or just on their phones instead of making your food as to why it takes so long. If an actual taco bell representative came into thus restaurant without letting staff know ahead of time then the staff would easily be fired, or retrained. This place is an absolute joke.
