2 thumbs up for a Berwyn classic that’s unfortunately shutting down soon! Cheers to the Vesecky Family for keeping this gem around for decades despite changing demographics…thank you Debbie, Elaine, & Nancy! There’s so many regulars who have grown fond of the place - we showed up at 9am and they were almost out of everything except the pumpkin pie, kolacky, cherry slices and a couple rolls ?

I go there every time I'm in town. My first visit was with my dad 70 yrs ago. Still has old standards.

The staff is vey friendly and the pastries are good but more for a sentimental follow. This is a nice business, but needs a modest facelift.

This bakery has been around for a long time. My grandparents went here many years ago and now I frequent here buying goodies for my family. My mom recently celebrated her 83rd birthday and I inquired about a small sized cake explaining how my mom cannot eat as much as she used to. The cake was the highlight of my mom's day. She loved it and thought the presentation was lovely as well.

My family has liked purchasing their bakery from this location for many years. This community is currently integrating the fifth generation. We moved away and a long time ago moved to Georgia. I was delighted to learn that Vesecky's could deliver their delicious pastries to my family and myself because I had been missing them. I placed several orders since I wanted almost everything they had. Everything arrived quickly and in top shape. We weren't disappointed because everything was fantastic. This place is where you can get the greatest pastries everywhere. When you order from them, you can't go wrong.

The best baked goods in town! Every time we visit Chicago, we stop by! Our family still frequents this bakery, which my grandparents first learned about when they were young Chicagoans. They make the greatest kolaches and houska I've ever had. Next month, we'll see you again!

This is how a bakery ought to operate. timeless, mouthwatering, unique, and reasonably priced. Every time we visit Chicago, we make sure to stop since it is well worth the traffic. The Kolach is unbeatable, especially the poppyseed variety. Rye bread is excellent. I wish my grandmother was the woman working the counter.

Great old fashioned, fresh bakery goods. Always delicious. If you want to be sure they'll have what you want you can call up the day before and place an order with no problem at all.

Walked past here the order day & decided to check it out. Ladies behind the counter were very friendly & kind. I ordered 2 danishes (big size) & 3 strawberry kolaczkis. Absolutely delicious & extremely reasonably priced (came out to < $6.00).

This is what a bakery should be. Timeless, delicious, specialty and affordable. We are sure to stop any and every time we are in Chicago - it’s worth the traffic. Cannot beat the Kolach - especially the poppyseed. Rye bread is outstanding. I wish the lady behind the counter was my grandmother.

Best baked goods around! We stop by every time we are in Chicago! My grandparents grew up in Chicago and discovered this bakery many moons ago and our family is still going to this day. Their kolaches and Houska is the best I’ve ever had. We will be seeing you next month!!

First time visit from out-of-towner at Christmastime. It was exactly what I was hoping to find—a classic bakery with friendly people and great prices. Variety of kolacky flavors and wide assortment of Christmas cookies. My favorite was the cherry slice.

My husband should not send me there alone. They have great donuts, apple and cherry slices and the rye bread is flavorful, a real difference from commercial store bread.
