Today was our first time at Love on the Blu! The food was amazing, specifically the French Toasts. Terrence amplified the service by engaging with us and learning a bit about us and sharing relevant facts about the restaurant. Our server Tre was also pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant. The music can be a bit more soothing.

If you're looking for a standout breakfast spot in Blue Island, Love on the Blu should be at the top of your list. This bright and welcoming location has just the right amount of space to feel lively without being overcrowded, and the ambiance immediately puts you in a good mood.
I ordered the shrimp and grits with catfish, the banana pudding pancakes, and a peach lemonade and every bite (and sip) was a hit. The shrimp and catfish were seasoned to perfection, and the grits were creamy and flavorful. The banana pudding pancakes were a true highlight, fluffy with bananas tucked right in the middle, and so good they didn’t even need syrup. The maple butter on top? A chef’s kiss.
The peach lemonade was also a pleasant surprise, a perfect balance of sweet and slightly savory, making it incredibly refreshing. Service was warm, attentive, and made the experience even better.
Price-wise, it felt absolutely worth every penny. With food and service this good, I have no complaints — just compliments. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable breakfast spot.

I highly recommend not going to this place, the owner was extremely rude and very disrespectful, this place of business needs to be shut down, food is a fake of tie die coloring smoke everywhere leave a stitch on clothes , I had breakfast food how could you messed that up, there was no refund or exchange back for our 1st visit at that, all the servers smelled like weed maybe that’s why the food was not cooked well, the place didn’t even open up on time

I have been to Love on the Blue twice now and I can say I truly enjoy this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful. The first time I stepped into the restaurant I was digging the vibe. Now I will admit that I am a creature of habit so both times I ordered the same thing which was the chicken and waffle. They allow you to get a flavored waffle for a small up-charge, so I got the apple waffle. Obviously I liked it because I got the same thing. Now I have tasted the shrimp and grits and they are good-with a ‘lil kick. I like mimosas and they have different flavors, so I let my waitress Dee pick…great choice btw! The music is also a vibe. I added a pic so that you can see the size-ish and decor. I included a pic. If you don’t know it is there you will pass it by. It was recommended to me, I went and liked it, and now extend that to you. Highly recommended! Plan a date and GO!!! BLACK OWNED, y'all! A sistah!!!!! GO!!!!! ✌🏾

Happy Sunday! Wasn’t even able to try the food or cocktails due to the long wait. Got there at 12:10 and was only served water, the bartender ran out of alcohol and had to go make a store run for more. The waitress was very kind. Trying to support our people but unfortunately I won’t be come back. This is just constrictive feedback I hope this business flourish

The fact you were aware it was Father’s Day should’ve been wayyy more prepared for the high volume of customers. We waited almost 45 minutes for two margaritas love. Our people won’t flourish in certain fields due to this attitude you have. On top of that you didn’t have biscuits at a brunch restaurant ….tik tok brought me to this establishment but these google reviews I for sure agree with. Our PEOPLE need to take customer service classes before opening businesses. GOD bless you take this as you please

Store was pretty clean but overall the customer service was highly unpleasant. As far as the food, I believe it could have been better had it been prepared properly. I ordered chicken and waffles but it looked like they poured a pound of syrup on them and then placed the chicken on top. I was told that they may be able to remake the order but was refused a refund.

I called ahead to see if they had reservations available they said they were taking walk ins . My sisters asked can we wait to be seat at the bar and we were told when a table come available we will have it. 4 groups of people sat before us . Other People were waiting were arguing about who was first . People walking in and being seated . The bar seats are extremely uncomfortable we were visibly uncomfortable and agitated when the owner came over she said all we had to do was ask . I ordered the banana nut waffles with a side of bacon and eggs the only thing that came out hot was my eggs . I sent back my bacon and eggs stating it being cold I was brought back microwaved food the owner her self said oh well you said it was cold so we reheated it not remake it . French toast was burnt , bacon was burnt and inedible , pancakes were burnt, sausages were over cooked margaritas weren't even mixed all the flavor was at the bottom of the drinks .This is our second time coming here and I don’t recall having issues the remodel is beautiful service is bad management rude . Great music beautiful environment. Bartender was very nice and accommodating. People did do regular rounds including owner to see if everything was ok.
