I came in a week early to order a birthday cake for myself. This was my first time ordering a cake from this location and bakery in general. I spoke to an employee asking if the bakery would be able to make a heart shaped cake. He stated, “it shouldn’t be a problem, just write that on the form,”that I had to fill out with the details of the decorations for my order. There is no telephone extension to call the bakery and you have to come in person to speak to employees there. The employee I spoke to said that if there was any confusion or problems with my order, the bakery would reach out to me during the week. If I got no phone call then there was no problem, and I can anticipate to pick up my order the day that I write down. A week had gone by and I did not receive any phone call from the bakery. When I came to pick it up on the designated day, I received the cake from one of the bakers, and it had a heart shaped icing border, but was a round cake and the message I I asked for was written with a slight fluke, there were actual quotations around it. This message mishap could’ve been my fault as I can see how my writing could’ve been misinterpreted, however, the heart-shaped cake when I asked about it, because that was what I originally wanted and wrote that on my form, the baker said that no, we do not do that and that this was the best that they could do. So I had said, in a very calm and nice tone that I was told that if this request was not able to be done or there were any other questions or concerns, I would receive a phone call for clarification, or to be told this cannot be done. I explained that nobody reached out to me, and nobody called me with any confusion or any problems or stating that this was not something they could do. Both bakers that I was speaking to at this time just looked at me and shrugged. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service of this bakery. The cake itself was good and I took it just because I had no other time for my event that I needed this cake for unfortunately.
