Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store

I’ve been going to this location for as long as they’ve been around, and without a doubt they have really gone downhill. First off, when I sit down at an ice cream place that cost as much as overweight does, I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have my ice cream served in glass containers like they used to serve them. I usually get a chocolate malt and I can assure you that it taste different coming out of a chilled glass. Then it does a paper one no better than what McDonald’s serves out of. The prices on their products keep going up, And in particular, sometimes I will get a very runny malt and other times I will get a very thick malt that is drinkable. You can tell that the recipes that they use for this is not down to a science at that location Because every time I get something taste different. I went today again with my daughter and was once again very disappointed. If you’re gonna charge upscale prices, you’re going to have to make your product consistent every time and serve it in glass containers.

for the last 3 times i visited this location they cant get my simple order correct, ether they can not get the correct sizes i order or the correct shake or both, and I'm having to taste them before i leave to insure i have what i order before i leave.

Oberweis has always been a favorite of mine; been going to this location for the last like 15 years. Can’t lie, the ice cream taste is phenomenal. Recently though, quality has really started to dip. From the absolutely filthy floors to the ice cream.

Last few times i’ve gone I’ve noticed that the ice cream has started to melt a lot quicker but the chocolate ice cream? Yikes. Today, our banana royale melted BEFORE we even took the 10 steps needed to get to our table. I kindly asked the manager if she could remake it as it was quite literally spilling on my hands and she looked very unhappy. While I understand it was a busy night, I did not order ice cream soup. The manager did not ask what flavors were ordered so she added the wrong ones. Instead, she asked if we still wanted the whipped cream and cherries that come with it…? Like what? Not to mention, she forgot to add the pecans so I had to ask if they could be added.

The video included is the SECOND banana royale which also melted almost immediately, under 2 minutes after served. Decided not to ask again for it to be remade though. Not sure if this is a new problem at all locations or just this one but it should be addressed. Unfortunately, quality is suffering while prices keep rising.

The cashier that took my order was nice, but she did not ask the name for the order so when my drink came up, they just shouted out my order. when I ordered my frozen mocha latte, the chocolate stick does not come with it so I added the chocolate stick which is an extra charge that is fine so my total came out to seven dollars and maybe $.45 or $.54 but when I got my drink, there was no chocolate so I told the guy that it was missing from my drink. he eventually gave me the chocolate stick that I paid for after telling me. It didn’t come with my drink when he hands me my drink he hands it to me in between somebody else like somebody else that the counter and he just hand it to me in between the people and the DRINK IS NOT blended well at all, there are ice chunks all in the drink.

It’s a shame the current Oberweis family has run this biz into the ground. Product and service at retail stores are always 10/10

Normally I love this Oberweis. Today I went to get a milkshake after having oral surgery. There was only one employee there (it was later afternoon) and he walks up to the register from the back playing a game on his phone. He continues his game the whole time he’s taking my order. When he turns around to go make the milkshake, I notice he not only isn’t wearing a uniform but wearing dirty exercise shorts with holes all over. He has long greasy hair that hung over the top of the ice cream cooler as he scooped. I threw away my very expensive milkshake because I couldn’t risk eating something contaminated just hours after surgery. Very disappointed and grossed out. Food safety and employee hygiene is non negotiable and I doubt I’ll return to this location due to this.

This Oberweis is exactly what you'd expect in all the best ways. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and the ice cream is delicious. I wish the banana splits were bigger but I have no real complaints we come here every chance we get.
