Tried Al Asala for lunch. This is a fast casual restaurant. I tried the beef shawarma with fries & rotisserie chicken with rice. The beef shawarma is quite good. The rotisserie chicken was pretty average. The skin was super crispy but the meat was a bit dry. The actual chicken didn't have much seasoning to it. They do give a few sauces that were OK. The fries were pretty much cold which was a let down. Not at all crispy.
By far the worst part of the restaurant is the service. The staff don't seem like they really care that much. I ordered a mixed fruit juice on my way out. The advertised price is $4.99 and I was charged $7.96, way more than accounted for by tax even in Cook County. I waited 15 min and they hadn't even started on the order. I asked for a refund and the guy gave me cash back (I paid on a card) - and shorted me on the change. Based on service alone I would probably not return here.
I came here for the broasted chicken, when they first opened it was very delicious, and now of course as any other middle eastern restaurant they changed the recipe and they change the spices and now the fried chicken taste like cardamom I felt like I was drinking Arabic coffee. The shawerma wasn't too bad. I would order the shawerma again. But not the fried chicken. Services was well enough.
Bring back the old brosted chicken recipe and please clean the pressure fryer, it looked super dirty.
I ate here for the first time today. I ordered two pans through Too Good to Go. Let me say.. QUALITY!!!! The pans were hot, which meant the food was fresh! You can smell the flavors!! The food was absolutely delicious! Middle Eastern cuisine is my hands down absolute favorite food! It was so good! I had to go back for some falafel and garlic sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious and flavorful!! Thank you, Alasala, for such a delicious meal! My boys and I enjoyed every bite! We will definitely return, Father-willing!!!
That's not the place you want to be there
I love alasala the food is wonderful and super clean. It feels like im eating in jordan with the fresh ingredients and amazing seasonings. I absolutely love bringing people here just from how beautiful the restaurant is and the service is always wonderful. The place is always clean and super friendly to me and my guests. Could not recommend this place more.
To be honest, sometimes the food is good, but the service is like asphalt. Every day they bring in a new person. They treat customers arrogantly and think that there are no other people. The one called Raafat is worse than that, but he is good with his friends and treats the owner of the store like himself. Other than that, whoever uses a bank card should be careful because they often withdraw cash twice, it is better seriously because they have to move without asking.

me and my boyfriend tried this place out for the first time during summer & immediately fell inlove with it. From customer service to the food is great . Always welcomed in. Ever since then we come here once a week or every two weeks , so much options & for great prices. The chicken is always well seasoned ! Have literally tried almost everything off the menu & it’s just great. Also customer service is amazing ! They are so polite & if asked for another sauce or anything in general they never give an attitude like other places do so that’s a top, asides from that for any inconvenience they always find a solution too. One of my favorites spots ! & of course I’ll be back there soon !

So I was disappointed in coming here. I was hoping to find some pretty good food given appearance and all. How ever my food was fairly bland or one note and this is very unfortunate. The gentleman at the counter was nice but idk if it’s the fact I’m heavy set or what but he offered one of their larger items to me… I got a halabi shawarma and a side of hummus they both were very much one note where the halabi only tasted of the garlic sauce. The hummus only tasted like chickpeas. I’d honestly question if they even use much seasoning with how my food tasted. I’ve cooked this food myself so it’s sad to see it be so bland. I was only able to finish barely half my food as I don’t eat much. I’m not sure if I’m going to even try reheat it later to finish it or just figure out a way to get rid of it. It apparently came as a meal as well with fries (which I don’t care for) and a soda. The place was quiet minus the music they have playing and very few people inside. Honestly If I try this place again it’s gonna be something much smaller.

I didn't want to write this review but the Shawarma sandwich had like 4 layers of bread and is very chewy. I had to remove all that bread to be able to eat the sandwich.
