What a disappointing meal for over $100.00 . The salad bar was dirty and floors sticky . The salads and other condiments looked like they were there forever. Waited an hour for our meal and the steaks were over seasoned and burnt. The to top it off the cook came out ( after we questioned the waitress on what the hold up was ) with his hands on his side a blurts out “do we have a problem “ with a very intense look on his face and stated he was the only one back there cooking . We will never go again throw our money away .

I have been wanting to try Art & Almas for quite some time. The place looked cool and it seems to have a very long, interesting history. I finally went the other day and was unfortunately disappointed. The poor server was the only one there and you could tell that she was stressed out. We ordered our food. We were only given one actual salad plate for the salad bar. The rest of the plates looked like coasters for coffee cups. The salad bar was typical. We ordered an old fashioned. That took forever to show up as well as the food took really long to show up. It wasnt a big deal as we weren't in a hurry. We reminded someone about the drink. They went to get it and said that the drink would be on the house (it was definitely not on the house. It was on our bill). Finally the food came. I ordered a 24oz Tomahawk steak. It was on special that day. When the steak came out I was pretty disappointed. Maybe it was 24oz with the giant bone included. It was also a lot thinner than most other Tomahawks that I've had. The outside was extremely charred. Being that the steak was so thin the char to meat ratio was not good. All I could taste was that char. The Tomahawk was on special for $75 dollars! The server didnt ask me about a choice of potato. We asked if it came with any potato and the reply was no. We had the server bring out some fries. After the meal was mostly over the server came over to apologize and said that it did come with potato and she gave us a cup of garlic mashed potatoes that were very good. Other people at our table ordered a steak that was overcooked and another person received a burger that was also over cooked. There was a table of people nearby that were also very angry that they were having to wait so long to get their food. It was raining pretty hard while we were there and we noticed that there was water pouring in from the ceiling of the kitchen and they were catching the water in buckets. The whole vibe of the place was kind of chaotic and unorganized. I want to say that I would give it a second chance someday to try the prime rib but I don't know if I want to take that chance. I will say that the bar area had a nice vibe and the drink was very good so if you stop here for an evening drink it's a decent spot. If you're hungry I probably go elsewhere.

Dinner was extremely disappointing. We had planned on getting the salad bar but after looking at it we decided against it. The lettuce was brown and the other salads looked like they had been there for days. Instead we ordered the Shrimp DeJonghe. The description said it was in a garlic butter sauce with Brioche and parsley. It came out luke warm and basically was shrimp floating in melted butter with yellow creamy sauce dabs all over it. The yellow blobs were some type of lemon sauce. There was absolutely no garlic flavor at all. The only flavor in the entire dish was lemon (couldn't even taste the shrimp) Asked the waiter where the brioche was and he said it was in the butter. There were absolutely no bread crumbs in the dish. We asked for some bread on the side and he said they didn't have bread. We ordered 2 bottles of beer and they were room temperature at best. We have been going to Art and Alma's for years and this is not what we expected.

2nd time we have been & it was even better than the 1st! Amazing tasting food....Prime Rib melted in your mouth. Salmon Oscar tasted sooo good. Loved the asparagus that came with it. Martinis were amazing - Kudos to the bartender!! Highly recommend this sweet place! You will love the old fashioned salad bar..so yummy!! Great service too!!

We had such high hopes for this place. We have been looking forward to coming here for months. It has so much potential. I follow them on social media and the food looks amazing in the photos. The salad bar as expected was terrific. The main food however was not good. I ordered a ribeye and it was very tough and extremely salty and swimming in a dish of beef broth. Not worth $50. My wife ordered the fried shrimp and there was a ton of breading on the shrimp making it almost inedible. All of the food came out cold and took an hour. The baked potato was microwaved and cold. The music was 80’s pop and was so loud it was hard to have a conversation every other song was Michael Jackson. Not that it’s not good music, but not suitable for fine dining. We won’t be back.

Art and Alma’s was a great experience from start to finish. The steaks are clearly what this place does best. I ordered the filet medium, and it came out with a beautiful crust and incredible flavor. I never knew a filet could have so much flavor. It was cooked very well, though next time I would order it medium rare since I prefer a bit more pink in the center. That is purely personal preference, not a knock on the execution. I have seen some reviews saying the salad bar is “wimpy,” and I honestly do not agree at all. There were multiple salad and side salad options, including pasta salad, coleslaw, and other fresh accompaniments. It felt classic and appropriate for a traditional supper club rather than trying to be trendy or oversized. The atmosphere really adds to the experience. There is a rich history in both the dining room and the bar, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. It has that old school supper club charm that is hard to find in IL anyway. What a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. I would absolutely go back.

Won’t go to this restaurant again management was rude. Food was very expensive as we finished our meal paid and we’re waiting for one of our group to finish our wine. The manager asked us to get up from our table and go to the bar to finish our drinks. There was not one table in the restaurant that had people seated. So that was the worst comment ever we’ll never go back.

Oh boy. I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for quite a while since I moved to this area. They have some odd hours so I always seem to want to go when they weren't open. I had an opportunity to go with a friend last night who actually grew up in Burlington, but hadn't been to that restaurant in decades. First let me comment that the staff was very kind. When you walked in I noticed the temperature was very cold even though I had a jacket on. I did take a while for someone to come to our table because they didn't know who's table it was. The waitress was very apologetic. They also did adjust the air conditioning so it wasn't so cold which was kind. I wanted some hot tea, they didn't have any tea bags and stated that they could not make any hot beverages. I ordered a diet coke, it tasted funky and flat. I wanted to order some lobster pasta dish that I had my heart set on when they told me they didn't have any lobster, and had been out for a while. I chose the expensive salmon plate. I won't get into details but it was very disappointing. My friend ordered the pork chop dinner and garlic mashed potatoes. The pork chop was dry, and the mashed potatoes were instant. The salad bar was subpar. I really wanted to go there because I saw they had creme brulee. I passed on the desert because I didn't want to be disappointed on the third course. We asked for to-go boxes but left both of them there. Unfortunately, neither one of us will never go back there again. It seems to be a staple in that town, which is fantastic. It was definitely busy for a Saturday night out. I'm just thinking that most of the patrons hadn't ever really been to a fine dining good restaurant as the reviews are currently a 4.6. I wish them the best.

We love Jeff and all the staff here. The salad bar is really good. We mainly visit during happy hour to enjoy the half price salad bar and discount drinks & appetizers. Prime beef sliders are pretty good, cheese curds were really good and the rib tips are hit and miss. But, when they hit, boy are they great. Either way, what a good place and a pleasant time with the staff and other patrons. Prices per person for happy hour food, drinks, tax and tip $30-50. Dine in dinner, drinks, tax and tip $50-100.
