I have been to Lolis Gorditas other location in South Chicago and I always enjoy the food and service.
When I saw there was a new Gorditas Lolis location here at Calumet City I was excited since I no longer have to drive all the way to 106th St to try some home made gorditas as I used to.
As always they are home made and served hot. I ordered a steak and cheese, a potatoes and cheese and a egg in molcajete salsa. 😋😊

I got a gordita de chorizo con papa had no taste of chorizo just potato it was very flavorless and no chorizo meat at all was very disappointed because thats what they are known for. I had also gotten a quesadilla with steak it was good alright wouldn’t come here again was very disappointed unfortunately.

I had a bad experience with two waitresses (in the am shift) with a chorizo gordita that had no taste to it; I had some issues (first time here) exchanging it, I was ignored by one lady and the other one said we normally don't exchange food if you don't like it. She said it will be exchanged this time, but, for the next time, they will not do it! I said to myself, there won't be a next time.. Because of; the greed, and questioned me if I had drinks that she needed to charge me for, we had only water? She was becoming more disrespectful, and not acknowledging I wasn't satisfied with the 'chorizo gordita' and being ignored with the first lady and how things should've been handled differently, no tip was left.. It was best to walk away, and give a review so other customers can see how this might happen to them.

I first noticed this place via ad on social media, however if you were to drive by. I think it would be easy to overlook or difficult to tell if they were open. It's a newer establishment to the area I believe, and the atmosphere is very nice. There was a language barrier as the menu was all in Spanish and the waitress was not very fluent. Food was not bad but wasn't great. I would give them another try.

Their gorditas, menudo and quesadillas are very delicious and now their service is better because they already accept payments by debit/credit card and before it was only in cash and you had to spend an extra $ to withdraw from the ATM they had there.
