Tropic Island Jerk Chicken

Great food however, the whole dark jerk that I purchased was a bit undercooked, flavor and sauce was on point. The entire meal was pinkish inside when I got home and settled down. I put it in the oven for a few. “Problem solved”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Jerk is my favorite. I cook lots of it. To the cook, great job on flavor and seasoning however; let your food cook a bit longer. Thank you so much. I will return for more.

Tried the place on 79th and St. Lawrence. The food is so much different. I’ve been eating with this lady for at Lease 25 years her food has always been excellent. I don’t know what it is about this one in Calumet city but I agree with you guys with the service and food. I just wait till I go in the city and go to 79th and Saint Lawrence.🔥💯

Ordered jerk cat with mash and Mac. Only thing good is the sweet jerk sauce. Mac straight out of the Kraft box soggy no flavor. Mashed potatoes hit one with a can no salt no butter dry even with the gravy. Cat fish cooked well. No jerk flavor even tho it looks like it. Everything bland 0/100000

Jerk chicken had no flavor. I asked them to put gravy on my rice because I know they rice doesn't have any seasoning, they didn't do that. The oxtail wasn't seasoning nor tender. The green are from out of a can, no seasoning either. The mac is terrible. Never going back again. The worst jerk restaurant I've had.

This restaurant was recommended to me. The food was prepared quickly and correct. The food was tasty and I will return and also recommend them.

Listen nuh.... The food, the food, the food 🎶 Just go get try it already! Authentic Jamaican cuisine. The oxtail and salmon is to die for🤤🥵. I skipped the rice and opted for vegetables on the side 🤤 Green beans🔥 cabbage🔥 greens 🔥🤤🤤🤤 Slap weh!

Today we ordered from work. We had 4 lunch specials, 2 white 2 dark. Everything about this meal was unappetizing. The chicken was scorched, Cabbage unseasoned, gravy thin and the cheese for the mac tasted like cheese sauce for doritos. So disappointing. One person did say the yams were halfway decent but I think she was being kind.

Food was great but the service was not there at all. I ordered a half chicken white and it SAID it comes w Mac and cheese and greens, I got it and it only had chicken so I called and they basically responded like ‘what do you want me to do about it’ !! And the least they could have done was apologize and lmk nothing can be done but they responded in an oh well type of tone so if you get the 1/2 chicken white online do expect it to come w anything

If your ordering the curry goat be aware your being charged for a bunch of bones. I am not exaggerating the fact that I literally have to scavenge my plate like a rat for some meat. Charged 15$ and I’ve only gotten little pieces of meat not even enough to fill 2% of my stomach. I am pissed. And this isn’t even the first or second time they do this. So I’m going to just leave this review here do you can save your money too. Unless your a hyena who eats bones too, go ahead. Let me not even get started on the lack of rice and beans to go with my lovely plate of bones. I just went ahead and put it on a plate. Don’t let the pic fool you 😄😒

Edit: tried it again 3 years later today. Curry chicken dinner Bland. Old plantains 🙂
