Hawthorn Tree Coffeehouse

Ask anyone and they'll tell you just how great Hawthorn is! They are always trying to shake things up and make improvements. When it comes to drinks they like to make them tasty and pretty to look at. Their pastry case is always overflowing with delicious treats, and you won't find them anywhere else! Their beakfast and lunch menus are both delicious! Best of all, they make you feel welcome!

I had the chicken salad today! It was great! Always good food and coffee when I’m here! Also the staff is great.

A cornerstone and staple of the Carlinville Town Square.. Great brews, people and old vintage atmosphere.. especially, on a crisp fall or winter morning.. or iced in spring and summer products.. thank you for entire crew helping energizing Macoupin County Locals and visitors near and from a far!

A great place on the square of Carlinville. They have a great bagel sandwich and a large variety of drinks and syrups. This place has a lot of seating.

The gray haired rude guy is the one I had to deal with. 2 thumbs down for him in particular. Food and coffee, great. Guy who needs customer service training, not great.

Didn’t get a chance to try the food, but the coffee was great! I had the brown sugar cinnamon latte. This place has tons of space & lots of outlets! I like to find new places to study at, and this is perfect for that:) Lots of rooms, seating, tables, etc. Can’t wait to come back sometime!

Great small town coffee shop with plenty of areas where you can be private. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful, cozy cafe with pleasant staff, good cold brew and comfortable seating. The rhubarb crisp and carrot cake are very tasty. They seem to be expanding their food offerings as well.

The variety of delicious desserts/pastry's was outstanding! They also have healthy options! We got 4 different sweet things to try. We both had a delicious frozen latte he got the Samoa and I got caramel! Before we left we realized they also served lunch so we ordered the courthouse sandwich to take with us! It was also delicious! The decor is warm and welcoming! The girls that waited on is were very friendly and suggested their favorite items! This place is a hidden gem!!!! Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you will not be disappointed! We will definitely be returning!

Excellent service and very good coffee. Normally, the pastries are very good, but beware of pastries the day after a holiday . . . . The cinnamon rolls I bought July 5 were more than a day old.

My husband and I (from Ohio) love to come here while visiting family. It’s become a tradition to come grab a coffee, walk around the square, then go workout. Workers are always so friendly and helpful, atmosphere is very nice, and the coffee is very tasty.
