I heard about Sauer's Bakery before while living in Chicago. The 1 hour drive to the small peaceful town was worth the tasty treats! Ladies and Gentlemen, i cannot express just how delicious the Coffes cakes and Danishes are!! There are a wide vareity of selections to include cookies and donuts. This is an old fashioned bakery of the type that are hard to find these days and it is a gem. Not particularly ethnic in any way, just excellent baked goods and lots of variety.
The coffee cakes, danish type pastries, chocolate eclairs and so much more are to die for. If you go on Saturday go early as selection runs lower later in the day, like any good bakery.
