Wineries in Carthage, IL

“As has been our habit for 17(!) years, we took a full day on a Saturday and visited a batch of Illinois Wineries in the same part of the state. Lake Hill was number 3 of 5 last Saturday . . . a return visit, since we'd last been there in 2014. We arrived early afternoon and nearly had the place to ourselves. Rachel (one of the owners) was tending bar, and helped us through the samples. The wines were wonderful, but were not as good as the company. (And that's NOT a slam on the wine.) We bought a bottle of "Lincoln's Noose." We PROMISE not to wait 9 years before our next visit. Rachel even took our picture before we left. (The blue book has our notes on - almost - every winery in the state . . . by next month it will be complete)“
