Cave-In-Rock State Park Restaurant

Very disappointed. This is the third time we have had to wait extremely long for our breakfast. 47minutes to cook what we ordered and then to pay $52 for subpar breakfast. We try to support locally but issues like this make it hard to justify our hard earned money being spent this way.

We planned on staying at the park in a cabin and decided to have lunch here. All the ladies working that day were very friendly. We had lunch decided to stay in the cabin ended up having dinner and breakfast the next morning it was like having a home cooked meal. You can sit inside or out with views of the Ohio river.

Was there today for the first time a bus boy not a waitress finaly asked what we wanted we said we need menus as we have never been there. So he says you want menus! I said yes we dont know what you have!. He brings us them and finally a waitress asked what we wanted. Told her our order and when we got the food my Italian beef and fries had so much salt i only had 2 bites and 4 fries it was terrible!!! My wife tried mine and spit it out in her napkin. She has fish and it was okay but she couldn't eat her fries either. Not one person came by to ask how we were doing or hows the food. I went up to pay and the bus boy asked for our ticket i said we were waiting and again no one even brought us the bill he had to go get it!! Wasted $24.00 on 3 bites of a beef and 4 fries. Terrible food and Terrible service. NOT AT ANY TIME DID ANYONE ASK OR COME TO THE TABLE TO SEE HOW THINGS WERE. First and last time ever for that place. Will never suggest that place to anyone ever!!!
Talked to the MGR that day said she would make it right just call before we come. Well called today she was mad at my review said it was harsh i guess terrible food and service you shouldn't give a bad review. Well look at the other bad one's theres a pattern and it starts with the manager and the training!!! Was willing to give it a 2nd chance and remove the review if things were better but i now see where the employees get their work ethic.

The experience here is always rewarding it puts everyone in a good mood, the food is always good, and so is the service the view you get eating outside is also a big plus. I always enjoy it here, and I recommend it to anyone. Especially on Saturday night when they do live music, it pits everyone in a good mood

Kid-friendliness: Everyone there is super patient and kind they never rush your kid to order faster or huff and puff when they can't find something to order

Loved this outside area to eat or inside. It is beautiful scenery and great customer care will go again and will recommend.

Service was slow, but the servers are all very nice. The food is pretty good. The catfish is yummy. For those staying in the cabins, the staff was very gracious and helpful.

We walked in at 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few empty tables, so the restaurant was a bit busy, but not insane and not packed by any means. After we ordered from the menu (the catfish dinner), I looked around realized that almost no one in the restaurant had their food. There was one large table that ordered a lot of food, so I thought maybe they were holding everyone up.

We ended up waiting over an hour for our food, with no update, no apologies, no info. That means it took them an hour to make food for 4 tables in front of us, though one of them had 10 people. Maybe there was only one person in the kitchen. If so, it would have been nice to be informed, like, “Our kitchen is really swamped, and it’s going to be awhile till your food comes out. If you’re really hungry, you should get the buffet.”

Was the food delicious? My husband said they were the best hush puppies he’s ever had, and the catfish was good though under seasoned, and the potato salad was good too. Was it worth waiting an hour for? Probably not. Perhaps it would be better to go on a weekday.

Paid 17.95 to eat the buffet that was either cold catfish or cold fried chicken. Flies all over the food. Then after wasting 60.00 and hungry they said the food is better off the menu. Walked into our lodge and there was feces on the toilet. Futon in the room was completely torn up, the mattresses had huge dips in them, could hear the people next to us the entire time and outdoor chair ripped through l. Waste of money. Should have just drove down to see the cave and left. We got up at 5 just to get out of there.
