Boyfriend and I enjoyed our experience here. Though the staff spoke very little English, it was hard to communicate with them but they were very welcoming and sweet. The food was delicious and they took less than 20 min to bring us our food and set up the hot pot. Overall very calm and friendly environment, definitely would go again.

Very good spicy chinese food

Ok so 1st we drove all the way to the address shown on the website. So we called and found the new address. It took a little bit to get the food but the food was phenomenal and you can tell the staff really care about the place. The lack of english speaking staff made it hard to communicate but all and all a good experience. We would eat there again.

An extraordinarily bad restaurant. Among, I don't know, 70-80 Chinese places I have eaten in, easily the very worst of them all. That they brought the wrong dish and, when reminded about that, they basically brought the SAME food with some peanuts added, that was bad enough. Yet, I have NEVER seen such disgustingly salty, suspicious meat, and soaked in oil food in my entire life. A health hazard. Avoid at all costs!

Authentic local joint reasonably priced

Food is great, but they definitely need more waiters/waitresses.Tips:1. Arrive as early as you can, or you will end up queuing for a seat.2. Ask for more food before you finish the dishes served.3. Don't expect to get what you asked. They will give you what they have.4. When the owner shows off his recipe, his drawings, and his artistic leanings, smile and don't take it seriously.5. Enjoy a delicious hot pot!

My partner and I had excellent service and meals at Cao's. We enjoyed hot pot dishes in China so we knew about getting the sauces and how to manage the hot pots. We both enjoyed our meals and will return. I believe that meals beside hot pots will be served in a week or two. BTW, there is a discount for seniors.

Great taste and great service. If you love spicy food, this is the place you go. Although they had a hard time serving all the guests at the begining, but they become more professional at my 2nd visit. The foods are served quickly with top quality. Highly recommend!

My partner and I had hot pot dishes and were very pleased with our meals and service. It is all you can eat hot pot food, which is unique for me. Food was excellent and we plan to return. They plan to service other meals besides hot pot within a week or two. BTW, they have a discount for seniors. I recommend checking this new restaurant in Champaign.

Can u believe this is the amount of three dishes? We waited 60 mins to have a seat, 40 mins to have a pot and another 20 mins to have the first dish. They wouldn't give u what u ordered, they only gave u what they had. The most terrible thing is that the hot pot tastes really bad. I will never go to this place again.

It’s an all you can eat hot pot place but we never got all we ordered. The waitress didn’t give any explanation for the missing items and claimed everything was served. I saw one of the waitress smoking E-cigarette and quickly putting it back to her pocket. I do not know if that is allowed. The worst of all, how dare the owner brag about his “mother’s recipe”. He even claimed his hot pot is among top 3 out of thousands of restaurants in Chongqing, where this style of hot pot is originated. It is disrespectful to all these great and authentic restaurants who truly respect the food. It is a shame if it’s someone’s first time trying Chongqing hot pot and think it is the real deal. I don’t believe that the owner, coming from the birth place of hot pot, doesn’t know what a good hot pot is. I hope he could start working on improvements and respecting his family recipe if he really has one.

Wow, very wow! First, the place is elegant and clean. Then, the menu is limited, but, I have never tasted such wonderful flavors! The sauce on the general chicken was fantastic. They gave us a free sample of stewed beef. I am ordering that beef next time, has a flavor that I cannot place, but LOVE! I'm not sleepy after eating, so, I think there is no MSG. Highly recommend this place.
