Good food and good service. Worth coming back for.

I typically order food online from this restaurant, which is decent. However, the lady staff member who takes phone orders tends to charge extra for even simple modifications and can be very rude.

Cozy atmosphere, delicious + affordable Mexican food near the college campus dorms, and attentive service.Chips and salsa were provided. Each were replenished frequently and even with some fresh, hot chips! Salsa was slightly spicy but manageable for even a spice baby like me.I had hot water and the fajitas lunch special. My partner had ice water and the lunch special #10 (quesadilla, enchilada and chalupa). Plenty of food per dish. The base with the fajitas were a little more salted than I would have liked, especially if not throughly mixed with everything else, so I wish more rice could be provided (besides just ordering a side of rice for a couple bucks). Otherwise, the food was enjoyable and your typical Mexican cuisine.Restrooms: clean and well maintainedWait: no wait for dine-in during lunch

The picture on this site of old location. The newer one is smaller and a little plainer. The food was good, and I had the managers' lunch special. I had mine with steak, grilled onion, and cheese sauce in a floured tortilla, came with sour cream, lettuce and tomato, as well as rice. The cost was $10.99.

Group of 16 (6 kids) went to El Toro on Neil for dinner before an Illini BB game. They seated adults together and the 6 kids in an area tucked behind our table. The service was prompt, efficient and attentive. My standard Margarita was awesome ... thick consistency and lots of tequila. Meals for kids came out very fast and the adults were served soon afterward, and all together ... we waited on no one's meal. Because of the fast and efficient manner with which they served us, we had plenty time to enjoy our meal and get to the game in plenty of time. We will DEFINITELY be back at out next game.

November 25, 2023 - Stopped in this El Toro on South Neil in Champaign for lunch before the Illinois football game. It was my first visit to this location. My son and I had an enjoyable time. The staff was friendly, the service quick and the food delicious. We both ordered from the lunch menu. My son ordered the Manager’s Special, a large chicken quesadilla with beans and rice. I had #7, chili relleno and chalupa with rice. Both dishes were fresh and flavorful and just the right temperature. We were quite pleased. I recommend this El Toro without any reservation.Parking: There is plenty of free parking in front and behind the building. There are designated parking spaces for individuals with physical restrictions.Wheelchair accessibility: This El Toro has good wheelchair accessibility. It is on one level, without stairs, and there are two entrances.

The food was great but the drinks were a little strong for my groups tastes. Would definitely eat here again.

If i could put zero stars I would. I visited my home town after moving to Chicago how can you make birria tacos taste American? My mind was blown the worse birria tacos I’ve ate in my life I’m pretty postive the cheese was American on the tacos. Lack of favor. As a chef I don’t know how anyone can mess up a taco that bad made me me realize why I couldn’t ever move back to this town. If you want I can send a recipe for birria tacos. i barley could eat them I wanted to throw up.

we had to send back food and Margaritas. No chicken in food or shrimp we ordered extra. Margaritas were like straight sour mix. Very disappointed. Margaritas we sent back twice.

I had lunch at the El Toto at the Fields one day this week. The food is big in amount with reasonable prices. Each of us got boxes to go. But the meat and beans were a little salty.

Caprice Frenata

A bit hectic, but great food. I recommend the horchata.

i don’t even know where to start. the price. the taste. the portions. my boyfriend asked me after our meal, what i would rate this place. i give it a 2/10. and that’s me being generous. the small queso cheese was 5.25 for cold queso. was gone in 5 bites. i ordered 3 mexican tacos. absolutely no flavor. the driest tortilla i have ever had. i’m starting to think they don’t even own any seasoning in the back. it was 15 dollars. my boyfriend ordered a quesadilla and it was half of the size of a regular quesadilla. it was 15 dollars. we ordered a pepsi and unsweetened tea. 6 dollars. our check was 45 dollars for barely any food. it was so bad i didn’t even want to pay for it.
