Esquire has always been one of my favorite bars in Champaign, but something seriously needs to be done about the manager who says she’s “in charge” — her number is 142. I’ve heard complaints about her before, and now I understand why.
While my group and I were paying our tab, she was rude and talked down to customers like we didn’t belong there. When I calmly told her she had a poor attitude, she actually kicked us out of the bar. That’s completely unacceptable, especially for someone representing management.
This kind of behavior reflects poorly on an otherwise great establishment. I hope ownership sees this and takes action, because this pattern of unprofessionalism is driving good customers away.

I stop into this bar whenever I'm in town. Most recently I was present when a patron who was acting belligerently was asked to leave. The staff handled the situation respectfully and professionally despite the individual causing a scene. I commend the bartenders and manager for the way they handled the situation.

Held a recruiting happy hour here and had a great time. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The pizza and apps were a hit. The only challenge was finding parking. Would definitely go back.

Best bar in town! Consistently great food, friendly staff, good drinks. Always excellent! But, COME ON, bring back the peanuts. Why buy a successful business and take out one of best things about it? Crazy.

Stopped in to have a after dinner drink with a large group of colleagues. After we started a tab, found pool tables and other games to keep us entertained. Nice large area and great seating for groups like ours.

Josh was awesome tonight. I just needed food after work, a shot and to gtfo. He had trainees and was encouraging to them and pleasant to me and watched my things while I stepped away for the moment. 10/10 🍻
