Good service. Great food. Best tacos and nachos in town by far. Stop reading this review and go eat their food.
Best burrito I've ever had!
Possibly the hottest ticket around campus. Don't let the facilities or the crummy sign outside fool you. Tacos are fresh of the grill, cheap, and very tasty. Mexican cream corn is great and not found in many other locations. Two freshly made salsas on each table. Both are excellent.
It was great, the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is awesome and authentic some of the best tacos I have had!
Food is immaculate. Orders are served fast and the choices are quite abundant.
Fresh ingredients and excellent flavor. By FAR the best in C-U area. Fernando and staff are excellent!!
My son, a local graduate student, comes here at least twice a week. We are from NJ and he had raved about the food truck and now the restaurant. So of course when I came to visit we had to go there and he was correct. I had the pork tacos American style and they were delicious. The prices are great for students. A must go to if you are at U of I area and even if you aren't 😀.
Never not phenomenal! I used to go to the truck and I'm so glad they got a brick and mortar restaurant now. Love this place.
Favorite Mexican food in Champaign. Glad they finally have a store on campus. A little too late though, I graduated! I will miss those tacos. I only rated it a 4 because the store came too late for me!
Best Mexican food in town. Nicest owner! Great place with great food. Cant go wrong.

Because of the student population at the University of Illinois, Fernando's was first known as a food truck, and then, as one of the best food trucks. Very recently, the owners decided to open up a store front, almost right next door to the Illini Union Bookstore. Fernando's sis on E. Daniel St., between S. 6th St. and S. Wright St. As good as the tacos were on the food truck, they are as good, if not better at this new, fixed location. You can find tacos, quesadillas, nachos, tortas, and burritos. Fernando’s tacos are available, as either Mexican-style (with onions and cilantro), or American-style (with lettuce, onion, tomato, and cheese). We particularly liked the nachos with chorizo which included tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, lettuce, onions, sour cream. For a quick, very reasonable priced meal, this may be a real good place to eat, especially if you are on a student's budget.
They have AWESOME FOOD! Great people!
Best food on campus! Love the tacos!
Amazing Latin food. Good portions, reasonably priced, and really unique. I've had their burrito and corn tacos, and both were excellent. Chamabanahas lots of “okay†Latin American food that is easily forgotten, but Fernando's leaves a lasting good impression. I'll be returning here often!
Super good food!! It's clean and the service is quick. Fernando is nice and I saw how dedicated he is to serving the best food
