I visited Ko Fusion recently and tried their sushi. The sushi itself was fresh and nicely presented, and the atmosphere had a cool, modern vibe that made for a pleasant dining experience. However, the service didn’t quite match the quality of the food. It felt a bit lacking, especially considering the higher prices of the sushi rolls. For the cost, I expected more attentive service and an overall smoother experience. The food was good, but the value just didn’t feel there for what we paid.

Bar sub, didn’t order any alcohol, convenience fee, 20% gratuity included bill for 4 people. Robbed, not going back!

What an absolute gem! So glad we found this place. The food, the service, the ambiance — all so wonderful! Wish they had one in Downtown Chicago. We would absolutely become regulars!

We came on a Saturday night. Unfortunately they have way more tables than the kitchen can serve and they sat everyone… and we sat… and that put undue pressure on the kitchen resulting in sub-standard food and service.

The owner of this restaurant has been under scrutiny from locals for mistreatment of employees and taking their tips. If you are looking for more ethical treatment of staff, look elsewhere.

That alone would be enough to warrant the low rating, but the service is also atrocious. 45 minutes just to order food is not acceptable anywhere.

Wish I could give it a zero star.

Biased owner.

Gave this place a try on a visit to see my daughter in college. The food was truly fantastic! I've eaten sushi around the country, up and down the coasts, and now, some of the very best I've ever had is in Champaign, Illinois. We'll definitely be back.

Waited 1.5 hours for food that never arrived, and an owner whom refused to speak with us. No matter how good the food may be, the ownership issues will prevent me from returning. The owner (known for allegedly holding back employee tips) was too busy being evasive in the back room to speak to us about what started as minor issues. She refused three times to speak to us, so we left...for the last time. If you care about wait staff and healthy work culture and customer service, hard pass.

I have tried a lot of sushi in the Champaign area but absolutely nothing compares to Ko Fusion. I’ve taken two different people here that swore up and down that they didn’t like sushi or even seafood and they walked away saying how good it was and that they would definitely come back. Everything is so amazingly fresh I love it. I can literally eat their ginger for days it’s so good. By far my favorite sushi is the flaming phoenix. It’s a whole little experience but it tastes soooooo good. Besides that I do like the fusion, the firecracker is good too. But I’ve had most of the whole menu (they added two new rolls I can’t wait to try) and you can’t really go wrong with anything. I haven’t had a lot of the drinks there (I’m normally the driver) but the little sips I have are really good, I think it’s a white dragon and maybe a red or green dragon and those were really good. The parking lot looks like it will be paid parking but they give you a token for it to be free. Staff is normally really good about asking that before you leave. Speaking of the staff, I have never had a bad experience here. All staff are extremely friendly, and one of the times I went here I stayed probably 30min after they were supposed to be closed. I never felt like they were pressing me to leave or anything even though that would’ve been completely justified, I left a very large tip that night for obvious reasons. Also I haven’t had his service in a while but Wyatt is an amazing staff member and if you get him, you’re in good hands. I could write a book about how passionate I am about how good Ko Fusion is but there would definitely have to be a disclaimer in that book which is: Ko Fusion is very expensive! I normally go with one other person and bills can range between 200-300 without tip. BUT, I order a lot of stuff. When I go I expect to take sushi home. I think a normal sane person would have a lower bill but I have never felt like it was a dollar spent unwell either. 11/10 highly recommend, you just can’t go all the time, just special occasions
