Maize has good food and all but, I came to get some Churros for my son because he’s never tried them, and I got (3) 6” long churros with Carmel sauce and some type of sweet cream sauce and a bag of tortillas chips with a small cup of salsa for almost $9.00. I have to say this definitely was not worth $9 and I’m not sure why that was priced so high but now it just makes me not want to go back there.

Best Mexican food we've had in awhile. We're travelling through and our campground host recommended this restaurant. It definitely didn't disappoint. Freshly made chips, salsa, tortillas and the burrito and enchiladas were awesome. Great service and veey friendly staff. Will definitely return if we're in the area again.

I lived in Mexico City for 12 years experiencing the Mexican food culture at its fullest potential, I later moved to San Antonio in which the majority of the population is Mexican and in which you would expect to find AUTHENTIC Mexican food, not the case… You find the most authentic food my pallet has ever tasted in the United States. Well done Chef Armando.
The corn is the secret ingredient here and you can taste it.

Sure wish Google had a 10 star option because I would give easily to Chef Armando and his team. I live in Texas and sure wish we had a Maize by us. Delicious, fresh food with handmade corn tortillas are the staple here. This is the most authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten. Don’t come to Maize expecting queso and fajitas. Pro tip - save room for dessert and get the churros.

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Fajitas with 6 shrimp. The Fajitas themselves are amazing, I finished the entire plate. However, the shrimp I ordered was raw, chewy, slimy texture. Do NOT order the shrimp.

Maize was great as a hole in the wall location. But this location was 25 percent more expensive compared to little maize for the exact same food, solely because it's pretty and the location costs a bunch more to be at. The appeal of maize was good food, no one cared about the atmosphere. Huge fail to make food more expensive solely for an atmosphere and to pay servers.
Also, the one time we went to the station the manager and servers were condescending. The owner who worked at little maize is awesome, it sucks they want to charge the people who support them more to have terrible service and a stupid atmosphere. It's Mexican.... Lmao. It's for good food, not a high class feel.
Will never ever go back.

For a Champaign visitors, this is a must try spot! Very iconic and the food are delicious. Portions are big so definitely come with a group of people if you want to try a variety.
- beef Fajitas: the meat is tender and flavorful, veggies are soft and mixed well with the beef fat. The skillet adds and additional element of char flavor.
- Mega Tlacoyo: I love how cheesy this dish is, at the bottom is a black tortilla, above that is a mountain of grilled cheese, veggies, and beef (meat of choice), and topped off with more fresh cheese. This is my favorite item of all the dishes we got.
- Chile Relleno con Pechuga: such a cool concept of a big piece of pepper topped with different Mexican ingredients.
- Tacos de Birria: delicious and authentic tacos

Beautiful night on the patio with the best street tacos I've ever eaten (and being from Texas, I have eaten A LOT of street tacos)! The Birria and Pastor are cooked to perfection...and homemade tortillas with corn home grown in Illinois adds to the perfect atmosphere.
