Overall it was fine! My husband really enjoyed it. For me, it left something to be desired. The price point and modern atmosphere set it up to be a really high end experience but didnt live up to my expectations personally.
The takoyaki was really good would definitely reccomend that appetizer. They were out of both the salmon and tuna maki which was super disappointing. My husband got the tofu curry rice bowl and it was delicious - super crunchy tofu and flavorful curry. I got the spicy miso ramen and it was just fine. The noodles, pork, and egg were delicious but the broth was not spicy or flavorful. You'd get more flavor from microwave Shin ramen than this broth. For almost $20 I expected a lot more from the ramen especially in terms of broth flavor. Would not order that again.
The staff was super nice, they just seemed overworked. We had to wait long periods of time in between seeing our server and it felt like we were forgotten about. It was busy though so we understood. They could probably use more staff :/

Went to dinner tonight with the besties and the staff here are so genuinely kind! They were busy with seemingly only three employees but kept coming around to ensure we had a good experience. I recommend the mule for a drink, and the spring rolls and shrimp sushi for appetizers. I had the chicken katsu curry don and it was delicious. 10/10 service!!!

Had a wonderful experience at Tenkyu. Food was delicious, decor was beautifully cozy, service was a tiny bit inattentive considering we were the only diners at the restaurant, but not terrible. Everything we ordered was top-notch, special mention for the chicken katsu curry don, karaage chicken, and the matcha cheesecake. Loved having the entire place to ourselves and the industrial-cozy ambience! Will be back to try all their ramen next time. Great bar as well, extensive collection of sake and shochu. My lychee cocktail was yum!

My husband and I stopped by here for a late night dinner after the ILLINI game. The dining environment was very relaxing. The food was good. My husband ordered Beef Udon and I ordered Spicy Creamy Vegetarian ramen. And our waitress was very friendly. Highly recommend to check it out if you’re in this area!

One of the few surprises in Champaign. This is an izakaya but I found that they have one of the best authentic clay pot rice. The atmosphere is pretty high class and a great place for dating. It is right next to a Hyatt hotel which is a very convenient. Price is on the higher side but quality is very good. Highly recommended if you happen to drop by that location.

So this place has all the ingredients to be a top notch h experience buttt just fell bland …. The space itself is a vibe , ambiance , service & food presentation were good but our food lacked flavor and spice overall . Our “spring rolls “ , were actually fried egg rolls served with a side of ketchup .. eww
Prices were high California prices .
On a positive note they have some great private party dining spaces as well. They also serve single use mouthwash in the restrooms which I found to be a nice touch . They were easily able to accommodate vegan options for me .

Came here because i was craving katsu and it was open late and i can't recommend the place enough. My server was wonderful. The chicken curry katsudon what a delight for the senses. The crunch and juiciness of the chicken katsu completed the richness of the curry. All brought together on a wonderful plate of rice. The soft boiled eggs bring a nice refreshing change of pace to the heavier parts of the meal. Truly something that I would hope you are able to try. This isn't even to mention the wonderful atmosphere and architecture of the place. It has a...industrial coziness to it that is a sight for the eyes. All in all a great night out!
