The Black Bull Restaurant

Food was just ok. More Americanized food than Mexican food offers. Portions are small for the price. Many other Mexican restaurants in town that I would choose before returning to this restaurant.

Not a bad experience, but not amazing. The food was average, and the salsa was different from any that I've had. The service was really good and attentive overall!

Vegetarian options: Very slim. I'm sure they could accommodate off menu items if asked.

Breakfast outside on the patio is glorious. Fresh orange juice (fantastic); pancakes, Mexican skillet, and the home fries (amazing). Will be returning!

I stopped here with my parents. We all loved our dishes. The potatoes were great. Great portions, quality & price. Can easily be vegetarian friendly.

Great little gem here. Good food diverse menu including breakfast and regular lunch if you want. Good value as well some outdoor seating is available if the weather is good. Good service feel like a nice family run restaurant.

Had the Deluxe fish sandwich which is currently on special Friday and Saturday nights. It was very good, light & flaky, and cooked perfectly. I recommend you try it before it's gone. We will definitely be back to try breakfast and the Mexican cuisine.

My wife and I had the Deluxe Fish samwich which is my Uncle Francis, Steve Flynn's dad recipe. The fish melts in your mouth like always. Still the best fish in the state of Illinois

(Breakfast only) Not bad! Everything was just OK (eggs were fine, hash browns too, pancakes tasty). Bacon was overcooked and coffee was thin. No butter for pancakes or cream for coffee. Service was great, place is clean. Price is very agreeable. An alright, if unremarkable breakfast destination.

As a long time lover of Mex cuisine, I'm very impressed by Black Bull. Owner is very sweet, friendly, accommodating. My meal was PERFECT. ENCHILADAS VERDES. I will return

Hidden gem for American style breakfast!Good service, prompt refills on coffee, generous portions.I do wish there were some more traditional Mexican options like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros etc.Breakfast ends at 11.

The waitress greeted my and knew my wife wanted a taco salad. And prepared it and I was on my way home. She told me to say "Hello" to my wife. Food was great.

Best Mexican food on this side of town. Well cooked and well seasoned. Staff is kind and prompt, even when the place is busy.
