My favorite restaurant in Champaign. The menu is a little less adventurous than it used to be, but overall the food and ambiance are still great. On my last trip there I decided just to get the hamburger. Best hamburger I can recall in a long long time.
The waiter there is the most friendly person you will ever meet, he is very attentive and knows a lot about the food here. They started doing lunch over the summer and it's wonderful! Good prices and everything is so tasty. I got the eggs Benedict, which was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were great. I will definitely come here again!
I had the deep fried pork belly schnitzel, with mashed potatoes and a beet slaw. The pork belly was not the best cut I've ever had. The deep frying dried it out I thought. The potatoes were hearty and buttery. I also enjoyed the slaw. I did get a side of smoked gouda mac. It was an interesting take. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wall had a booger on it by our booth. I didn't want to say this but it is hard to ignore while eating.
