Great food. I was so glad that they had my favorite combo. Tips, wings and links. Good sauce. But the website did not say fries. It didn't matter, I just ordered it on the side. It took me 3 days to eat. The girl at the counter was very nice. I definitely will be back.

I walked into this location around 6:10pm on 01/22/2026 and the lady at the front never greeted me nor told me they were closed. Instead she let me sit over 15 minutes until I rang the bell. This is when I was aware they were closed. A waste of someone’s time and lack of customer service.

I really enjoy Pit Stop Barbecue in Chicago Heights. The food is consistently tasty—the sauce is especially delicious, and the meats are flavorful and well-cooked. The menu has great options, and the overall quality is solid.
One small drawback: there’s usually a short wait if you order online and then pick up in person. It’s not a long delay, but you might end up waiting a bit after you arrive. Besides that, everything else is great, and I’m happy to keep coming back for the sauce and the tasty barbecue.
Would recommend for anyone craving solid barbecue with a standout sauce.

Ordered online July 8th got the confirmation number and it says my order will be ready July 11th 11am so I called and no answer finally talked to someone two days later it was said I can come get my order next day I try to get it and no notice was left and they told me my order was cancelled after them telling me I can come get my order next kept getting the run around getting put on hold forever never got my order or refund $28.82 I showed my confirmation number and the money coming out my bank still nothing now I go down the street to Wilma's no more long waits.

This place has become a pit. Decided to give them another chance on a weekday and it was still horrible. Ordered a large tip online stated it will be ready in a hour get there 40 mins later order is ready gets home 5 mins away and its cold!!! Order just sitting on the side. Ordered a large tip that was covered with fries and the portion of ribs was very little and every tip had a huge bone. I could have just ordered a small tip. I will not be back here guess I will try the new spot in Matteson because the quality here is trash!!!!!
I did an online order for my client then we got the food the bread was molded and the chicken was soggy and when I called she told me I had to bring the food back why you think I would eat food exposed to mold instead of saying I’ll replace it never again first and only time drove all the way from Skokie

Rib tips was hard maybe old and it took 20 minutes or 30 minutes to get some old dried up rib tips I will not recommend this place to anyone that atmosphere was pretty amazing because of the people that was there but the atmosphere customer service and management is flawed need to check your services that you put out and know it doesn't have access or handicap wheelchair people

Waited in store for 2 hours and still have not received my food. Do not order from this location. Everything is unorganized and completely chaotic. I am waiting for a refund in the store and no one is coming to the window. I will never do business with this location again. I had to leave as no one would come back to the window to give me a refund. I had to write the order on a envelope requesting a refund. Order HEW 989. My order was supposed to be ready at 5pm and I walked out with nothing at 7pm.

When I placed my order I was very specific about asking for crispy fries. With mixed sauce. Instead I got hot sauce soaked non crispy nearly raw fries. The meat was very fatty, not tender , nor was it hot . It tasted leftover and it had a lighter fluid liquid smoke flavor. Definitely not worth my $22.00 ( with a card fee) large tip. So sorry I wasted my time, money and gas on this disappointment. And that Cole slaw wasn't Cole slaw -ing at all! Pit stop is the pits. And no air in the lobby. Can't see this place open for much longer . They take you thru a lot of drama for your card payment like the food is so good!
