I was here years ago way too salty. Ubereats gyros sandwich combo bogo is super good. Matteson Perro Bros was the best since the 1980s.

Food is horrible. This is not the same Marnells. The original owners moved to a new place in South Chicago Heights. I wouldn’t waste my time at this place.

UPDATE: OCTOBER, 15,2025 R.I.P to the original MARNELLS (at this specific location) 🪦♥️ The new owners stuck with the same menu but the recipes aren’t the same and the quality is gone as well. The gyro meat is now pre chopped and very thin. It’s not fresh. They also add olives with the pits still in them to the salads. This is bound to mess up someone’s teeth if they don’t know they’re biting into a pit. Update: The original Marnells has temporarily moved inside of LA LOMA supermarket in town, they will soon open up their new spot across the street from La Loma. The original Marnells is the only Marnells that I will be giving my money to.
Old review: Such a staple in town. They have a good variety on their menu and they have specials. Food is always fresh and the customer service is always great. I find myself at Marnells almost every time that I am not making food at home :)

I've been going here for years and the rib tips were the best... I went today and the rib tips were disgusting... The barbecue sauce wasn't the same and I don't know what kind of seasoning they used... Unfortunately I won't be going back and that's sad because I really loved their ribs... I guess I have to find another spot... I did ask the lady if they were new owners and she said yes but the menu was the same... Today was my last time going there... Goodbye to a good Chicago heights staple it's so unfortunate 😢

I would love to believe it was an off day. It has been about 2 month's since I last visited. That being said, all different faces, totally different Inside, and totally different food prep. Burgers were dry and pulled from a fridge, gyro meat was taken from a bucket and allready chopped up to be thrown on the grill. The cashier/person who took my order was super friendly and on point. The cook didn't seem to care what she wrote down or what her answer was pertaining to his multiple questions about the order. Needless to say, we got double cheeseburgers instead of single. And we got 4 large fries instead of the combo meals we ordered. Maybe next time the food will reflect the marnels of old.
