Gen Hoe 1 Restaurant

Gen Hoe is a quality family-run Chinese takeout restaurant. While you can dine in, there's really no reason to unless you're stopping in from far away. That aside, the food is generally good, minus a few menu items, and the portions compared to price make it well worth it.

Maybe the only Chinese food in the south suburbs area that’s worth going too I wouldn’t go anywhere else

I come here every day for lunch! Their lunch special is such a good deal, I am addicted.

Just ordered from them, the first time after moving to the hood. Very simple crab ragoon and kung pao chicken, extra spicy and no nuts. First time getting kung pao chicken with 90% chicken and not to mention SPICY as hell. Loved it. Crab ragoo was well stuffed but could have been warmer. Still pretty good.

literally so nasty , the place has roaches and its very dirty and doesnt smell good , he called me a white girl when i went to go pick up the food . im arab . the food is so discusting i swear it smells like dishsoap and everything and its not good at all, the smoothie they cant even make a smoothie correct , and its so expensive and for what ?? it was so nasty , honestly the WORST chinese places ever.

I have been going to Gen Hoe 1 for years and loved the food and pricing was good. I just ordered from there last week and was surprised of the changes. First pricing went up. 2nd. The quality of the food dropped drastically. Beef fried rice hardly any beef, found no egg, no onions, no taste. The crab ragoon use to be stuffed with filling not anymore. The egg rolls seem smaller with no taste . I after all these years will find a new place.
My wife agrees with what I wrote here.
