Absolutely classic tacos. These are some of the best I've had in Chicago. I don't live super close, but I'd go out of my way to come here. Their chorizo is fantastic. Service is great and the sense of community is well established.

Come on guys, the rice is still hard, no sauce or it or the tamale and what's with a dried out tamale doing on a plate with again no sauce. The carrots and peppers suck lack heat and flavor, go back to san Marcos peppers and add in to it like decades ago. Green sauce sucks no heat at all like it's a white man's version of green sauce.
Beans we good, but remember you're Mr Taco..a Cicero landmark and generations of Cicerones have flocked to you for your food and flavor. Stop messing around and make sure you follow poppas recipe, and don't shortcut the food .

New owner is incompetent! Asked HER several times about everything being in the stapled bag and drove more than 50 minutes to find out I was missing 2 items that she confirmed were in the bag. SHE also specifically asked if I wanted molè on my rice and when I opened it, NOTHING! Word to the wise: Open your stapled bag and triple check everything is there even if the careless owner says otherwise. New ownership has no idea how to run this place anymore.
I have been going there for 30 years always very consistent. The Spanish rice with the sauce on top is nothing that's like out there absolutely delicious. I live in the northern suburbs and still drive down just once in awhile just to get it.
