Absolutely classic tacos. These are some of the best I've had in Chicago. I don't live super close, but I'd go out of my way to come here. Their chorizo is fantastic. Service is great and the sense of community is well established.
I have been going there for 30 years always very consistent. The Spanish rice with the sauce on top is nothing that's like out there absolutely delicious. I live in the northern suburbs and still drive down just once in awhile just to get it.
This is like the Mexican version of a greasy spoon. But don’t be turned off. They do things differently. I got a steak taco and they put the steak in the taco whole. I’m not sure if I like that but it was an interesting twist and the flavor was amazing. I also got a cheese quesadilla. What’s interesting about this dish is that the fry it cheese side down so the cheese is fried. Not just melted. OMG so good.
