Decor is tired. Wait staff is tired. Food is just ok. To-go ordering takes forever , they never actually have the order started until you get there. Tbh this place is a headache every single time I order. Not with it for Mediocre food.

Love this place!! So many wonderful soups, salads and sandwiches for a sit down lunch, and then frozen meals to take home. Try the iced tea! It doesn't need any fixings because it's delicious as it is. Its interior is bright and cheerful. Friendly service! Lots of gluten free and vegetarian selections!

This place is a hidden gem in beautiful Clarendon Hills. The food is homemade and so fresh! The deli meat is sliced daily and the soups are all amazing. Great place to stop for lunch or brunch! Their turkey havarti sandwich on a croissant with cranberry mayo is amazing. The mushroom brie soup is to die for!

Food is good but the staff including the owner could be a little friendlier. Someone else wrote on here you are treated like a bother and I can 100% agree with that. So many local customers of all ages love having this establishment in the town but everyone would appreciate just a little bit more friendliness.

My husband stopped in to pick us up soup & 1/2 sandwiches. Was a little disappointed about the size of sandwiches. They were not 1/2. They were smaller but they were tasty and the soup was tasty. Service was quick & friendly. It's a small seating area but quaint. Just because I expected a bigger sandwich it won't keep me from coming here. Food is great.
Wendy did a great catering job for my home event which was all heavy appetizers. I highly recommend Village Gourmet.

Wendy did an outstanding job helping us plan our daughter's baby shower menu. Her food is inventive and delicious and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the luncheon. I highly recommend Village Gourmet!

Deli, cafe, lunch spot, caterer all apply when talking about Village Gourmet but one of my FAVORITE parts about this place is the fridge and freezer with gourmet to-go meals which always please in my house. Now that Farmer's Market season has returned to Clarendon Hills, you can plan your dinner with a stop in town. Fresh green beans or kale pair wonderfully with Village Gourmet meat loaf or beef Wellington. Crusty bread from the market really goes great with their variety of gourmet soups. And my personal favorite is their chicken pot pies which are hearty fall and winter meals, but honestly, we enjoy them any time of the year. (I've given these as gifts and the recipients were extremely pleased!) I plan to try their Thanksgiving sides package the next time it is my turn to host.
