Loved our experience at Honey Heist Mead today! Staff were very welcoming and friendly and willing to spend time introducing us to their product. The vibe is open and laid back. The fight is the way to go. You’ll definitely want to try everything! Some of our favorites were the Chai Spiced Pear Apple Cider, Hop Brewery Collab, Jammed Up, Elderberry Plum, and Root Beer.
Honey Heist is amazing — every mead I’ve tried has been smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the quality of the honey and the care that goes into each batch. The people here are super friendly and know their stuff, always happy to chat or help you find a new favorite.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it’s clear they put their heart into everything they do. Whether you’re new to mead or already love it, this place is 100% worth checking out.
Can’t recommend them enough! 🍯🐝
Michelle and her team have created an absolute gem of a business in Southern Illinois. My girlfriend and I both graduated SIUC over 15 years ago and visit every year to unplug and bask in the glory of SoILL. Last year we didn’t have time to add Honey Heist to our trip but took a note as a must try. Today, we stopped and spent about an hour with them (wish we had more time) and the ownership and staff treated us with amazing service and knowledge of the meads we were drinking. I highly recommend you to stop by and enjoy some awesome flavors of an “uncommon” type of adult beverage on the wine trail. Bring your friends for a great time!

We've been visiting Honey Heist since not long after they opened and it is always a great experience. All of the meads are extremely well executed. Mead is easy to make but it is difficult to make it this good. They're also super friendly and service is great.
This business makes Mead or honey wine. They have a wide variety of meads. The staff was very knowledgeable. You could get a flight of various meads for $15. They have outdoor seating in a rural setting. That's quite nice. Also, they are on the wine trail. Easy to stop by if you're visiting other wineries
All the meads had a good balance of sweetness, nothing syrupy. It's hard to pick just one favorite. They also have honey sodas
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!! The mead was delicious and the staff were very friendly! We’re hoping to get to come back and stay at the Airbnb on property
Ever try mead? You haven't had any mike theirs i bet! They had a snickers snickerdoodle that tasted better than the cookie!! They had a peanut butter and jelly one that tops the canned one I tried. They make a sweet mead unlike the meadery in missouri. We had a group of 4 and got flights till we tried every one they had on the menu. They had one or two that was probably a 5 out of 10. Most were 7 or higher! The owners were very friendly, welcoming, and informative! I will definitely be making the hour and a half!
We enjoyed the peach and Fruit Mead. The place was always busy Labor Day weekend. So fun to enjoy a great place.
Amazing selection of mead and very nice owners

It was awesome. The peanut butter and jelly was my favorite mead.
Honey Heist Mead Company is fantastic! Their meads are super creative and absolutely delicious. The owners are true experts at their craft. My wife and I sampled everything on the menu and honestly loved it all—I could barely narrow it down to just three favorites. The space has a great vibe—relaxing and welcoming—perfect for enjoying a curated flight they’ll happily guide you through. Definitely a must-visit!
As a mead lover from the Pacific Northwest, this is a must try… plenty of options and seasonal delights..if you’re new to mead, definitely try the four option sampler…we will definitely be back for the cranberry seasonal and elderberry seasonal, glad we found this place
Great detour while you are on the wine trail. We enjoyed sampling the various flavored mead and our tour.
An amazing stop while on the wine trails - mead is unique, but similar enough to wine to make a stop between the others in this area. Very friendly owners, and they have a lot of very unique, variety of different tastes for everyone to try. Highly recommend!
