Closed. After a drive of a couple hours. How sad. We loved this place.

My husband and I wandered into this place and had a great experience. Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks!

Wife and I celebrating 50th wedding anniversary at Great Boars of Fire on May 13th 2023. It was a family and friends celebration. I was very impressed with the venue. Everything went according to plan service wise. No waiting , no excuses. I cant say enough about the entire experience. The chicken and brisket were very delicious.It was a perfect day for us. We will remember this day forever. Our deepest appreciation to the owners and staff for all your efforts. I just can't find the words. So... thank you again from the very large Bustamante Family , and from all our guests .P.S. we live up north so , being out in peaceful surroundings was also a real treat

This place is awesome we got married here back in 2020. We are totally thrilled they opened back up.

Wonderful environment, people, food...Give this place your business! The picture is on reopening night after 12 am. We all had a wonderful time!

Very disappointed in service. I booked Great Boars of Fire for my wedding in May. We asked for bbq, twice baked potatoes, and baked beans. We were also told that tea and water would be provided. The set- up was subpar. We were told it would be an all you can eat buffet for 120 people, we were charged $2,000.00. We were also told that all left overs would be wrapped up for us afterwards. We did not get twice baked potatoes, it was mashed potatoes with some cheese in it, they did not bring the tea and water which we were depending on. In the middle of the reception the venue owner had to make us up some tea quickly. We had approximately 80 people there, and the leftovers we were given definitely showed that there was not enough food for 120 people. After everything was said and done we contacted Bob to let him know about our service and how unhappy we were with it. The first time we spoke he was very apologetic, saying he would refund us for the tea and water mishap and give us bbq to make up for it. We heard nothing else for a while so we called again, he was very aggravated and not so friendly that time. Asking what we wanted from him, that he had done his part but again agreed to refund the money for the tea and water. Weeks later... still nothing. He said he would send it by email, we assumed an echeck, and then we spoke with his wife who said they would mail it. It's almost August and we have yet to be refunded. Very bad service. Not to mention he quoted us at $12 per person in the beginning, when it was time to pay 10 days before the wedding the price was raised to $15 per person. At that point it was too late to find anyone else. Be careful dealing with them, if you have any issues they will not work with you.

We attended a Teen/Adult Challenge Mid-America banquet at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau which was catered by The Great Boars of Fire. The food was delicious! The set-up was wonderful, too. A chef even circulated around the tables to check on the diners' satisfaction.

Paid in full to have my wedding there. Ended up having to cancel it due to COVID as well as my fiance getting pregnant.My now wife and I called numerous times to try to get our refund due to the birth of our child and our financial situation changing. We were told we would get our refund in the mail.After a couple weeks of waiting for the check, called back, the owner told us he could only give us our deposit back (half), which we agreed to even though he told us when we paid that we can just pay in full and a deposit wasn't needed.After countless phone calls over many months, excuses from the owner saying the check must have been "lost in the mail" or "I'm sending it this week" now we cant get a call back from anyone and still don't have our money back almost a year and half later. Terrible business, would not recommend. Shady.

Update:a year later and still nothing back from them

I had to cancel my wedding due to COVID and the fact that I live in San Antonio. Not local at all so I can't just pick a new date. Decided to do something small at home. I tried for a good month to get a hold of them and nothing. Eventually they just started ignoring my calls and sending me to voicemail. One day I called from a different number and got through so I got to talk to Bob. He said to call back in 2 month and that he would give me my deposit back. Tried calling and back to ground 1 where they keep blocking my calls.

Oh and the lady also told my mom that it wasn't her fault COVID happened. Well it isn't my fault either and I was never told it was non refundable so I feel it is only fair I get my deposit back. If I could have rebooked then I would but I live in a completely different state. I feel it is very unprofessional and unfair that this company is acting like this.

I would not recommend them at all

Great boars catered our wedding and did phenomenal. We had more than enough food & also had more guests show up than we anticipated. Great boars was so responsive, helpful, and kind. The food was absolutely amazing and we are still eating leftovers. 10/10 recommend!
