Quick service with delicious food. Their sandwiches are all amazing. The location is great and easy to access. On my last visit I ordered online and my food was ready when I arrived. I think their prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of food they serve. Perfect for a quick lunch.

Me and wife were out in the area this week and found this little gem
Food was awesome ! She had B&G, wow ! Really really good. I had the Arkansas kicker, wonderful in its own and then they top it off with jalapeno red pepper jam.
I think I had a religious moment. It was amazingly good. Definitely going back. My only negative is I wish they did diner too.

Adorable place, but the waitress working on Tuesday June 17th at 8:30am would be much prettier if she would add a smile with her service. Not sure if she was having a bad day but she was not very friendly. A smile goes along way!!!

I absolutely love Café on the Abbey! It’s one of those rare gems that not only has delicious food and a cozy atmosphere but also truly cares about accommodating dietary needs. I have several dietary restrictions, including being gluten-free, and this place makes it so easy and comfortable to enjoy a meal without stress.

Their gluten-friendly options are not just afterthoughts—they’re thoughtful, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff is knowledgeable about ingredients and always kind when answering questions or making substitutions. You can tell they take dietary needs seriously and want every guest to have a great experience.

Beyond that, the food is always fresh and absolutely delicious. Whether you're stopping in for coffee, brunch, or something sweet, everything is beautifully prepared and presented. And the vibe of the café itself is warm, inviting, and just a lovely place to relax or catch up with a friend.

Highly recommend Café on the Abbey to anyone looking for great food, a welcoming environment, and especially to those who need gluten-free options without compromise. They’ve definitely earned a regular customer in me!

Their Coffee & cinnamon rolls are both outstanding! They are very friendly & have excellent service! It's a great place to go for coffee. They also have outdoor seating as well! It's worth a trip to Columbia, IL. Try it out!

Friendly staff, optional outside dining(weather permitting). the Mimosa flights are good. The Arkansas kicker is my go-to no matter how it's made.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. They prepared my food “to go” even though we intended to dine in. Both the cashier and server I interacted with were unfriendly and condescending. The food was okay, however the croissant was dry and old.

If you want enjoy good food, at a reasonable price, and be treated with respect, this is not the place for you.

I've been here several times and never had a bad meal. It is always top notch! Don't trust the online menu, they change sometimes for the season.

Is it possible for a breakfast sandwich to have too much ham??? This is you to decide.

I finally had the chance to visit “Cafe on the Abbey,” and it did not disappoint! This charming café has a unique and special atmosphere that makes it stand out. I absolutely loved the patio; it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee.
The coffee itself was excellent—rich and flavorful. I didn’t try the food this time but noticed many sweet options.

What makes it even better is that the café is part of a complex that includes a beautiful new hotel called “The Principal” and an amazing wedding venue, all right there. The staff was friendly, and I really enjoyed the welcoming vibe of the town. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend visiting!
