It's a very nice coffee shop with good food and drink selection. Nice environment. Overall it's worth a perfect 5 star review across all fields. My only little personal opinion is not being too fund of the live music on Friday which, depending on you, can potentially kill the mood if you just wanted to relax after the work week. Donno. Not what I envision a coffee shop having as opposed to a bar? If their hours were longer on the other days I'd definitely drop in then instead. Just my thoughts. Don't change anything just because of what I think. ☆☆☆☆☆

Fabulous place across from the train station in downtown Crystal Lake.Fabulous high ceilings funnel away the noise of surrounding conversations.I hardly noticed anyone else was there.Minimalist decor with comfy chairs and inviting wooden tables. We ordered protein bite cookies with chai teas. I was delighted to be given real plates and cups. Real silverware is available, too.I admit I don't actively look for coffee houses and I'm normally a dark roast double expresso shot with milk from Starbucks person when I do get coffee from a store. But I am eagerly planning my next visit here.Aroma has such an inviting atmosphere. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Our time there was truly a treat for me, an escape from the outside world to catch up with a friend. I wouldn't change a thing! ❤️

One of my favorite places in downtown CL to enjoy coffee or a glass of wine with friends. We did one of the chef wine pairing meals in the summer and it was an absolutely lovely experience.Highly recommend Aroma for a peaceful meeting or gathering with friends.

I have numerous wonderful memories at Aroma with all of my loved ones. My family and I often come to Aroma for Saturday morning brunch. I always order the Metro Morning sandwich on wheat, my parents order their matching grain bowls and my brother the Sunny Side-up Flatbread. We spend hours laughing, talking, and just spending time together. My partner and I love sharing a flatbread over a glass of wine listening to the variety of live music on Friday nights for date night.Aroma truly is a gathering place and the beating heart of McHenry County.

Absolutely love settling in here with my laptop and vanilla oat milk lattes. I’ve spent many calming and relaxing mornings here working from my computer while watching people conduct work meetings, and friends gathering and sharing laughs. It’s a beautiful cozy place with gluten free food items as a big plus! And having live music is the BEST!!

We absolutely LOVE Aroma. Such a welcoming, cozy space. The flatbreads are the best we’ve ever had - we crave them! We love stopping in for some coffee/cold brew in our free time. My husband spends some days even working from Aroma and could stay there all day! If you’re in the crystal lake area, stop in and be welcomed by amazing staff, yummy food and a comforting enviornment!

The mint matcha latte was excellent, and I would get it again. They were very busy, but they still managed the line well.

Was searching for a local coffee shop, where i could relax and sit for a bit without feeling rushed. Aroma came up as a suggestion, and am I THRILLED I tried it. Absolutely precious little cafe for not just coffee but wines and snacks. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. The playlist couldn't be any better for a "mature" audience. And the coffee and wine choices are eclectic and varied. Those will most definitely be a routine visit. You'd be very happy to give it a try. Aroma will NOT disappoint.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant as I have heard good things about it. And finally, I was able to. First, the ambiance is wonderful - a large space with tables not too close together which provides the room for private discussions and studying if you choose. Decor is my style - eclectic - brick, metal, vintage pieces. Choose your table and then order from the counter. They have sandwiches, paninis, flatbread, appetizers, beer, wine and choice cocktails. They bring your order to the table. It is a coffee shop, so there is a selection of coffee and tea. The fig prosciutto flatbread was wonderful. Crust was very thin and crisp. Love that the shop offers side, such as uglies chips, from small independents. It was a Friday night - there was a entertainment, a trio 70s and country cover band. Loved them! I sang along to ever song and we stayed to listen until they completed their sets. Definitely a comfortable place with good food and drink. Will be back!

The prices on the menu don't match the website. Also, why is it $2 more for a cup of coffee in crystal lake than a better cup in chicago?
