The food was great! It was served quickly and was hot. The proportions were the right size.
Our server was very polite, friendly, and was very attentive to all her tables. She really made us feel welcome. She even offered coffees to go. She alone made a big positive difference in our visit.
The atmosphere was pleasant as well. The acoustics and lightning were perfect.
We will visit again. 😀

One of my sister’s coworker dropped by and after some time catching up, we decided to go out to grab a bite here. Unfortunately it was too late to order beignets, so we had moved onto the other items on the menu. I opted for the updated version of the tuna melt…. Instead it was chicken salad, which surprisingly was tasty and moist. Of course I was forced to sample everyone else’s food and the chicken pot pie was creamy and savory. It was topped by a flaky buttery pastry that melted in my mouth. I only sampled the sauce for the BBQ burger and it was delicious. Lastly the French toast with cherries was a great surprise. Maria was our server and was prompt and professional. Great food experience!

WOW! Benedicts La Strata is a true Crystal Lake gem. We came in this morning and were absolutely blown away. The atmosphere is warm, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is next level. I ordered the Red Rooster Skillet and it was spectacular—the mix of sweet potatoes, jalapeños, and avocado was pure perfection! My husband loved his Biscuits and Gravy, and the lattes were excellent (we needed a few!). It's easy to see why this spot is so popular. We're adding this to our list of local favorites and will definitely be back. Highly recommend checking them out!

On rainy Sunday, got to wait for 2nd person in waiting area instead getting table and coffee please don’t tell them size of the party. Then got table in the tent full of water and over leaking roof and there was plenty of other tables available . At this point we left , not taking more chances to ruin our morning.

Fantastic breakfast menu. Beignets and potato pancakes are some of the house specialties. Nice seasonal menu as well (currently fall/pumpkin). I had the same German Benedict (with a tasty brat and mustard) w/ hollandaise sauce and potato pancake. Intelligentsia coffee with a table carafe make hot coffee a nice touch. Very reasonable prices
The food here has deteriorated to a lack of quality making it inedible. I first ordered biscuits and gravy, potatoes and poached eggs. The eggs were cold and floating in a 1/4 cup of cold water. The two biscuits were dry and cold with a meager covering of gravy that contained 3 specks of "turkey sausage". The potatoes were dry and cold. The waitress asked about our food and I told her what was wrong. She suggested the quiche as an alternative. The slice of quiche was so dry that it crumbled to a dry and powdery mess-must have been microwaved. My husband had bacon-acceptable and eggs over easy with two large but very dry buttermilk pancakes. The small amount of butter and fake syrup did little to moisten them enough. This meal with a tip was $35. Totally unacceptable.
I had eggs over easy with ham and white toast and coffee. The toast was stale and cold ,the butter didn’t even melt. The cream for the coffee was sour. And the ham was over cooked. The only good thing was the waitress who was very pleasant.
This has always been a reliable choice for breakfast or lunch, but on this last visit I was less than impressed..it was a good thing we weren't in a hurry because the service was very slow. When the waitress finally came to our table to take our beverage order I asked for an iced tea and water. It was awhile before the tea came, and I asked about the water again, and she said it would be coming, and that someone was refilling the bottles. Then, while we’re waiting for our food I see the waitress for the next table over bringing them a second bottle of water. By this time over 30 minutes have passed. Finally, I flagged down one of the bussers and asked for a bottle. Why was it so hard to get water? I ordered the 1/2 sandwich with salad and soup. I should have asked for the dressing on the side, but I thought every place just served it that way by now, but not here. The salad came drenched in dressing, hardly edible. We were done eating before the waitress came by to check on us so I could finally request a refill on the iced tea. The food was just okay, service not great.
Add a wonderful breakfast. The quiche was excellent. I can't wait to try one of their Benedict.

We got the tuna melt and the California club and they were the best sandwiches we'd eaten in a LONG time. The tuna wasn't fishy at all and everything was fresh...they did not skimp on the veggies and good stuff. We had our dogs there and they were very accommodating.
The potato salad could have used some pepper, but otherwise everything was GREAT. Pictured is the California club.

Went in on a Wednesday for breakfast. I had the Ole Fritatta and it was flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. Portion sizes are generous and include a side of potatoes or fruit and choice of bread (which I love!)
